one of two routes will likely happen:

1. complete redesign
2. The end of the "generations"- I think you may start to see "styling" updates yearly just as you see minor other changes. Your kind of seeing that with the mustangs. 2009, 2010, 2011 are all significantly different. For now they call the 2010 the first of the "new" look, but what if 2012 is significantly different as well?

Styling wise...the Mustang has about a 5 year life span usually before change in looks happens. 2009 was the last of the 05-09 style...and 2010 is the start of the new style (2011 is visually the same as the 2010...just drivetrain alterations and a lower stance)

How about making a 2011 55 Chevy??
Or how about a 2011 Chevy II or some sort of Chevelles SS with modern LS6! Subtile changes to the 5th Gen only please, lighter and faster.

LS6 was the GenIII engine used in the C5 z06. They already used that name for a modern one

Yep, a direct inject 5.5 liter V8 in a smaller, lighter alpha platform Camaro?

That's a recipe for fun my friend.

That's the way I would like to see it go. It has a great design now and maybe it only needs refinements. The new platform is suppose to address the weight issue so that is a good start.

The Naughties on the other hand, gave birth to amazing designs like the Vanquish, Porsche GT, R8 and of course the Gen5 Camaro.
You're just wrong, sir.

While an updated 4th gen would be SUPER cool, it's too early for that. I think GM ought NOT to imitate each prior generation in order, but bring us something completely new and original, born from gen 5.

Oh and 4th gen =

Endure this

Well what they really need to do is come up with some concept art show them to camaro5 and other enthusiasts and see what we think. Then let the engineers actually build it up so we have a good looking and functional car.

I love the 20" wheels on the 5th gen but I miss the days of fat tires on a wide open 5-spoke wheel with a deep dish.

Those things don't exist in my universe, neither do Mustang II's or Toyota Corolla based '88 Chevy Nova's.

I agree. When I started this thread I was unsure myself, but now I definitely think they should take the evolutionary approach as opposed to the revolutionary.

The Camaro I reckon is gonna get the Corvette treatment ala C5 -C6, Smaller, lighter, and more "Taught" looking. The look will not change much other then size, as it should be. Why mess with a car that get's nods and thumbs ups from people driving vehicles that cost 2-3 times as much?

Hmm i don't see them coming back with 4th or 3rd gen remakes. It's sad, but true.

I say they keep this styling, with some minor changes, and then the 7th gen make a WHOLE new camaro. 2014 is too early to see this style go.

Definitely have to keep the 1st gen hips. I don't mind the 4th gens but I don't think they fit the NEW car market now (sorry Revs...). As for the Mustang I thought their first shot at retro was great but it is overdone now. Unless it has a snake on the fenders it does nothing for me

I saw a concept drawing of a Camaro that looked interesting.

The new lighter camaro should base itself off this super-light platform:

I hope they don't ruin the Camaro's looks, that will surely put the Camaro in the crapper for good. I'm just glad I have a 5th gen with the 6.2. Personally I doubt I will be buying another Camaro anyways, this is the one I have been wanting. Lighter, smaller, smaller V-8, yadda yadda yadda. None of that appeals to me
