Rally Yellow = not Rally Yellow?

I own a black 2012 camaro V6 an decided to change color to rally yellow.
I gave the Chevy dealer various color codes (GM, DuPont and 3 other) for rally yellow, and when I got their sample, it looked quite ORANGE to me!
I then looked up rally yellow camaro's in Google and they seems to have various yellow shades, some look like a lemon, some are almost orange.
Should the real rally yellow look YELLOW or has it a touch of orange in it?
Chevy said they followed GCO, but for me, its FAR to orange.

Honestly man, my personal opinion and ill get roasted for this. I wanted yellow, until I saw rally yellow, it just was too pale for my liking. Its nice but not for me, wish it had more pop

Have you seen the Velocity Yellow from the corvette? Thats a beautiful yellow to me

But if your having your car resprayed, for the love of God, find a mettalic yellow and spray it. It will look badass

I guess I am having a hard time to understand why you would take a car that is a year old and want to change it from black to yellow? I think you would be better off and trading yours in for one that is already a Rally Yellow.

As you can see in my profile, I live in The Philippines, and there's no other camaro to trade with...

The reason why I want to change color is that here in The Philippines is a LOT of dirt and dust in the air, so I have to clean the car twice a day just to have it look good. Driving for 5 minutes means cleaning the car again, I am quite tired of that. I made the mistake to buy the black one, but there was no other color available here, in fact, my camaro was the only available camaro here, at the time I purchased it.

Paint it House of Kolor Sunrise Pearl like in the Transformers movies. A whole lot nicer yellow. Although I've kinda gotten used to the yellow now.

If I was doing a color swap to yellow on a camaro it would be this.

Heck, that color looks damn nice. I will have to ask the dealer here if they can get that color anyhow.

Agree with the sunrise... This color should have been the yellow, but it isn't cheap...

Rally yellow does have some red/orange in it.

As to the Sunrise paint - it will be similar to - but not the same as Bumblebee. The actual cars have special primers and tintcoats.

The Corvette yellow is also a tint-coat. (meaning that the clear coat has a tint to it.....)

So if it has some red/orange in it, then the sample they gave me was maybe correct. They said they followed GCO. Its quite possible that it looked so dark to me because the sample was just 4"x4", and it might look completely different when applied to a bigger area, like the car?

I had a 2010 rally yellow, and it looked plenty bright to me. After 2 1/2 years though I was kind of tired of it. That's why I got the Victory Red on the 2012. I never get tired of red.

I would do the sunrise metallic at all costs. Its expensive to shoot a whole car anyway, might as well go with a premium color. In the grand scheme of things upgrading from rally yellow to the sunrise yellow wont be that much. Since you are already paying a ton in labor to prep the whole car.

Also, Metallics do not show dirt and scratches as much, but still pop and can have a mirror finish if its not 100% metal flake like the silver cars.

IOM, CRT, and that sunrise bumblebee color are the only colors id consider on a car now lol

Real Rally Yellow is painted over black, if you go that route make sure your painter uses a black primer or it'll look like a lemon (ask me how I know).
