You were right on the oil flow, it may be just the pump, hopefully. I have heard my engines knock on occasion after changing the oil due to the dry filter, and still (KNOCK ON WOOD) good oil pressure in them. If the knocking did not stop, then I would be more concerned. With the amount of debris in the oil filter, the pressure relief/regulator could be stuck open causing the low pressure.

Maybe if I shed enough blood getting the pump off the Camaro Gods will see it as an offering and have mercy on me.

Engine is blown. Face the fact Randy. You know your luck and that is what it is saying.

I love your dedication to your car. I would have sent that one down the road a long time ago.

I hope you get it all worked out.

Engine ain't blown.

I've seen and heard blown engines. And this thing purrs when it's started. Started it for the last time to back it in to the garage.

Got all the oil pan bolts out, harmonic balancer pulley off, water pump off, Janetty tansioner had to come apart, moved the alternator and ONE FREAKING pan to timing cover bolt kicked my ass. It's right above the frame and the hot cable and tray sits below it too. 45 minutes and finally called it a night. One bolt from the pump. Ugh............

You have mix blood with engine oil and drink it in order for it to be considered an offering...

Well I guess I might have bought this instead of rented it.

This rod get jammed DEEP inside the bolt. All atempts within my means failed to get it out. It's jammed DEEP. So I got pissed and just cut the ****er. Put a 15mm socket on the end of the nub and pulled the pulley off no problem.

I wonder if they'll give me my deposit back LMAO?

I rented that damn thing for 86.00 :O

Holy crap. I've rented this same freaking set from the same freaking place 4 different times now.

I might as well just keep it.

Anyway, heading home in an hour. To tackle that bolt. It's ME, or IT.

while it's apart, you may as well just do an entire engine relocation to the trunk so it'll be easier to work on. you've relocated everything else

Oil pump is just slightly worn and scored. Not enough to lose that much pressure I don't think. So time to go deeper.

The tips are worn and scored. The metal is consistant in type to that in the filter. BUT, this pump should pump just fine it looks like. The relief valve was NOT stuck open that I could see.
