PQ - take out your wallet, blow off the cob webs from the AMEX card, and call this phone # 1-800-LINGENFELTER. Order a long block in your favorite CUBE # and trade in your heads to them for ones that were re-worked. Wa-La - all your problems solved.

You will be up and running in no time...

Hi BTW...

Yup that would work or he could get a entire new one from Mast all put together also and sell his parts to help pay for it but get at least a 18 month warranty from Mast.

Hi BTW...
Hey Dan. Long time no........... read. lol

Way out of my price range. Only way to save money here is going to be assembling and installing myself as much as possible. Rotating assembly will be worth the money but the rest I can save a ton to do it myself.

Warranty is a joke at this point. Anyone is going to say they warranty the workmanship. But most of the time there is no way to know what failed first.

I don't trust anyone to assemble shit for me anymore. I'll do a small block but that's it.

yeah, the 1 3/4" headers are starting to be a slight choke point the bigger you go. i know a guy who actually did that size on a TVS2300 LS7... his top end was choking hard. i'm running 1 7/8 on my LS1 right now & still think it's worth it for my boost level (and more so that i could keep them up to a stroked engine)

i'd say you'll be fine having somebody build you a short block & then putting it together yourself - you're handy enough for that... heck you got it down to the short block now by yourself. it's just the reverse + proper torquing & alignment of stuff to put it back.

and to some of the naysayers, i've seen 2300s push just fine on a 427 with low 10s compression and make good power (like in the neighborhood of 1000crank) - it's just hardcore maxing it out.

I think with a Forged 419 stroker to about 10.2 and my Maggie with the right cam I should be able to make over 700 and be perfectly safe with room to play with.

Need your transmission rebuilt. I would say now is a good time to get than done also. If you are going to have it apart get it all fixed since you said it was slipping already.

PQ, this is the thread about oil I was thinking of but couldn't remember a couple weeks ago. I know you all discussed the zinc additive and all but here it is FWIW. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=257146

Plus the circle already knows the location of FEST 6.
I dont believe any good candidates will come from that area.

True. But I think there will be some people willing to travel that far. Time will tell.

I could not find any place that showed evidence of the kind of oil pressure loss that I had.

Rotating assembly looks fine but I'm not sure what to look for unless I disassemble it.

Anyway, here are some pics from today.

That's what I would call major surgery! A lot of metal shavings in that pan can't be good!
