Great pictures of the red Camaro RS. But I'm trying to visualize some white rally stripes on it and I'm a little bit worried. I haven't really seen any pictures of Camaros with the actual rally stripes - just photoshops people have done. And I've read somewhere here on Camaro5 that the rally stripes do NOT extend onto the front fascia at all. The first gen Camaro Z/28 stripes extended all the way to the nose of the car. And the second gen Z/28 stripes carried onto the fascia (my hugger orange '70-1/2 Z/28 had black stripes like that). I know it will be easier to install the stripes (both at the factory and at various dealers) if they don't have to mess with the gap between the hood and front fascia or the "mail slot" non-functional scoop in the fascia of the SS. But I'm afraid that they made the decision to limit the stripes to the hood (and rear decklid) for those reasons, and the stripes won't look as good as they would have if they were more like the second gen Z/28 stripes. I'm guessing that the few people who order their Camaros without stripes and then have them painted on will extend the stripes onto the front fascia because it will look better. What do you think?

I do not like the look of the sunroof. The panoramic sunroof design of GM's pontiac G6 is much nicer.

That's what I'm talking about, I did order mine with stripes from GM I hope they look good or I'll have 2 take them off and paint my own. It just seems like they would get some photos with the stripes out unless they are still working on how the stripes will look like.

That's actually just the lens the photographer used... it makes things that are closer look wider. There's a front view photo where the grille looks really wide and ominous too. It's done for the dramatic affect.

Now.... that brings us to the issue of people comparing the spy photos to the "beauty" shots of the concept. Most of the people taking spy shots were using small consumer cameras with regular zoom lenses and not a "wide angle" lens like this. OF COURSE the concept is going to look more dramatic and the spy shots are going to look a lot flatter and duller. It's the lenses!

I've never had an issue with the styling. I think they get the concept "spot on" with the V-6 camaro. I don't feel the love for the SS nose and never will. The sunroof opening outside the body was another "nails on a chalkboard" moment for me a few weeks ago when we first saw it. I took a lot of heat for not liking these parts of the car.

Now, if they get around to telling us they're going to offer blue on the SS and/or a HUD in a reasonable amount of time, then I'll be the first in line to get one.

Sunroof really doesn't look that bad to me. But still not willing to give up the reverse mohawk roof.

I don't care how functional you think it may be; the car looks so much better without it.

You're eyes are drawn to it because it's on your mind. If the sunroof hadn't been the topic of discussion, it would't be as obvious.

Though realistically, I don't immediately look at the sunroof. The car looks just as good either way, useless divit, or sunroof...

Great pics -- thanks for sharing. Love the interior shots. Glad I didn't get the moonroof option -- not too crazy about how it opens. But very little choice for Chevy considering the sloping of the roof.

Red looks great but the sunroof looks a bit weak, it looks like it will fly off if you're hitting 120.

Love the pics but this confirms for me I am NOT buying the sunroof!! I think it detracts from the looks of the car. It looks like an afterthought! Sorry.

Well at least thats money in my pocket. I have a sunroof on my magnum, it looks really good when open but I hardly ever use it!

The red does look really good but I agree with most people on this site about the sunroof taking away from the beautiful camaro.

Well, I don't exactly like how it opens but consider this: When closed, it keeps a nice smooth shape and it doesn't make the roof look hacked like in the previous t-tops. It also allows more light inside (if you want more). On the other hand, if you drive it, you will never look at yourself through a giant mirror and the ability to open and close on the fly makes it a better option than having to stop and remove your t"s and stow them in the trunk. Nowadays, it's all about convenience.

Though the sunroof would be better if it stayed in the roof, I don't think that would be possible given the slope of the roof in the back. I'm not getting a sunroof anway, I want my reverse mohawk!

Does anybody has dimensions on the roof opening?
I wonder if the size makes it a viable worty option?

the sunroof looks sexy as hell to me.. it opens up the same way on my gtp so im used to it! ( it grew on me.. at first i thought it was weird) i've had 4cars with a sunroof and i wont buy one with out one.. my caddy, two cougars, my gtp... and my impala will be getting one soon .. Oh and by the way my car hits 142 mph almost weekly somewhere (it tops out at 142) and the sunroof is hangin on just fine.

and i think u guys are so distracted about the d@mn sunroof and didnt notice theres a torque guage in the 4 pack??!?!?! i thought they werent coming out with these is this red one an old preproduction one too??!?!

and theres no traction control button.. (is that because its manual?)

Edit button ftw. Torque gauge will be replaced by something. I forget where they said what it was, but torque gauge was canned. Also, what would you do if you added a cam or blower for torque? You'd break the gauge.

You and I both have been critical of the front bumper and I agree with you that the sunroof could have been done better. However tomorrow morning I will have to make the decision as to which model I am going to get. My wife told me to go ahead and order whatever I want. Am I being selfish here ordering a manual SS when my wife wouldn't be able to drive it because she only knows how to drive automatics? I've offered to teach her but she refuses. So to make my wife happy I would have to pick an automatic and to me getting the SS automatic is a waste, so I would probably just get the V6 automatic fully loaded for the same price as I can get the 1SS. So it is either the 1SS or 2LT/RS??? What should I do? I would not be unhappy with the V6 since I like the look better, however I know I will miss the power of the V8 and the fun of a stick. I'm torn as to what to do here...
