The key here is we have no purpose to carry guns here in Canada. So, nothing to be uncomfortable about. That's my overall point.

I've been to almost all the worst parts of town in every major city in Canada, the worst thing that happens is someone asks you for a dollar.

We had a bank robber here for about 1yr. going to banks with a note in hand walking away with a few dollars each time. It's actually pretty funny.

And, shootings (involving innocent people) is very rare, the last one was a TTC (subway) attendant. That guy will be hunted down like a dog, and won't see the light of day for several years when they get him. And, believe me they'll chase him to the ends-of the earth until they get him. That's why we don't have much crime here. You will not get away with it, and they'll eventually catch you even if they have to leave the country to snatch your a**, especially when violence is involved.

I would argue law enforcement should be adequate to keep crimes at bay so people can feel safe walking the streets without a piece stuffed in their shorts, otherwise what's the point of having a police force, why not have a vigilante system of justice?

So after reading the responses, I'm not debating whether or not you should carry a gun, it seems to me it's quite obvious you have to, but it also appears there is something majorly wrong with law enforcement and the justice system over there, it could be financing, I don't know but it's very apparent there is something not quite right. Outside looking in anyway.

Logically, if I had to carry a gun that would say to me that my whole family needs to carry guns too. Does that sound normal? Seems kind of 3rd. world-ish.

I suppose it's something that most people won't understand unless they are American. Our country was formed at the end of the barrel and will be kept at the end of the barrel. You don't HAVE to carry a gun if you don't want to. But most people that carry rather have it and never need it than need it but don't have it. There is nothing wrong with being prepared. Also CA has one of the highest gun control but why do we have one of the highest crime rate? If gun control laws are so effective then why do the facts show the exact opposite?

IMO, the crime comes down to a social problem. Since politics are banned on this forum, I can't get further into it.

If some dumb ass climbs in my window in an attempt to rob me or rape my family and I pop off in his a** that's one thing. But, in public there is very little to fear, and less to fear in your home.
And, my questions aren't to demean anyone or any country, I'm just asking a question our of curiosity.

The question has been answered a few times. So, I'm good.

But, if I needed to carry a piece in my Camaro, I'd want it quickly accessible. I'd have a special housing made under the driver seat where I could easily reach under and grab that bad boy quick. LOL

I'm sure we can all agree that a man's castle is sacred and anyone entering your domain should be met with swift justice. But I personally feel that it should apply in public as well. How about you tell those students in Virginia Tech that they don't need a gun to protect themselves when they were all massacred like sitting ducks. If people were armed there, the casualty would be much less and the threat would be neutralized the first room that the guy hit. It may have even deterred him from shooting up the school in the first place. Please take note that all schools are considered "GUN FREE SAFE ZONE". That means ONLY the bad guys will have guns making schools a target rich environment.

Exactly!!!! Has anyone EVER seen a criminal read a sign and surrender his weapon???

Same goes with machine guns....just look at the Hollywood bank robbery. Most anyone can convert one in their garage so what have they accomplished?

Sometimes I swear they should have a class of 5th graders sit in and listen about laws so they could give their subjective opinions. At that age common sense overrides political sentiment.

And all while our government gives away assault weapons to Mexican drug cartels

The idea of double sided reflective road markers with red indicating wrong travel of direction was submitted by a very young person.

Got bored and build a dual mount for the 1919. Broke out the plasma cutter and Mig. Bent the steel on a commercial hydraulic sheet metal brake at the workshop. AR500 armor plate, also cut out a second set of spade grips. Still need to bend and weld em. Its on the to-do list.

Need to get the second one built, still need to build a t&e and fab up a can mount. It never ends...

She saw it and said lets go! One hour later I have my first C&R gun. Below are pictures of the actual gun.

Has anyone ever shot one of these? I am going to the range this week with it.
I have a Mauser 1916 from Danzig Germany, used in WWI and the Spanish Civil war and rebored to the "mauser 7mm". I love firing it, have trouble being accurate without using sandbags as it is long as hell.

Also, went crazy since the last time I checked in here.. Now have a WWII M1 carbine, and a bunch of others..
And I have a rock river 20 inch stainless steel barrell with chrome bolt and quad rails on order

How do you like the SR40C?

Is it pretty compact? I'm looking to replace this Sig P290 I purchased because it has a crazy heavy trigger pull (9 pounds). I like the look of that Ruger

Oh, and is it hammer fired or striker fired?

I love it! it is 6.85" in length, 4.61" in height, with a 3.50" barrel. striker-fired and highly accurate.

Very fun to shoot. More maint. then an Ar per say, since there are more parts and they are bigger. Takedown is a bit harder with the recoiling barrel and feed mechanism too.
