Help!! I can't do a Burnout!

Just like the title says, I can't do a burnout. I have an SS A6 and I have done them before by turning off the traction control and stability control then hold the brake and giving it gas until they break loose then let off the brake and let them spin. But now when I try it it won't do it! I hold the brake and give it gas and as soon as the tires begin to break loose it's like the abs or something kicks in and releases the brakes and "lurches" forward. I know it's not me because I've done burnout's in it before. Has anyone else experienced this?

Alright. I would like to add that I am not going to trade it in for a manual. This forum is for help not to bash fellow Camaro owners

I guess I understand that but I don't understand how I have done it before and now it won't do a burnout. It obviously leads me to think something, somewhere has changed.

how fast (or slow) are you revving it up once you've held the brakes?

take it to the dealer and have them inspect the traction control and stability control system, tell them that the activate themselves at the wrong time.

As soon as i come to a stop, I hold down the button to turn off the tc and stability control. I then push harder on the brakes while giving it gas. They will break loose for an instant then its like the brakes release pressure and the car lurches forward. It may be revving to 1700rpm, but thats just a guess

sounds like the car is overpowering the brakes and you arent giving it power quickly enough to break the rear tires loose before the car rolls forwards.

next time you try it, pump the brakes once or twice before holding them down, then stab the gas. (after turning off tc and sc)

just hit the tap once to turn off traction control, don't need to turn off other stuff. Put it into sport mode, and then forget about brake standing and from a complete stop take your foot off the brake and mash the gas pedal all the way down, it should do a nice long burnout. If not then maybe you need to do the fuse pull if you have an early camaro or if you are running anything but 91 or above octane. Are you running premium gas ?

Sounds like possible power loss to me. I know this car has the guts to burnout without even breaking a sweat...

With the TC turned off in my 2002 she's a furious, tire-shredding monster that gets all disrespectful with my 285/35 Pilot Sports, and your gen 5 has at least 30hp on me. You should have no problem burning out, might want to have her checked out.

(Dumb question, but she's past the break-in point right?)
