I am guessin everything is stock correct? And sounds like you have a manual. If everything is stock and you are in manual than the time and wheel hop sound about right.

did you run with traction control off? With practice (and good air) you'll be in the mid 14's with a stock manual.

except you're doing 0-90+ with people in the stands watching your every move. lol you also need to make sure you know how to stage right. a lot of people's first time don't realize how to. And then there's the xmas tree. That can be different depending on the track. no pressure though! haha

yeah, just watch the guy in front of you. sometimes the lights are red, all three yellows at once (punch it here), and then green. oh, and when you line up, there are a SET of yellow lights that come on when you are close to the staging line, and then a second SET of yellow lights that come on right after. they are right next to each other, so if the top pair are the only ones on, then you need to move up a tad more. if only the bottom two are on, then you went too far and need to back up a tad. you want all 4 lights on, then the tree will start!

hope that's wasn't confusing. lol

Automatics are fairly idiot-proof unless you are like me. I took my '05 4.0 Mustang to the dragstrip for the first time in a few years last month. I was there early, second car of the night. I had the damn thing in 3 instead of D, ran a 16.7, I was embarrassed as hell. I was so pissed, got back in line right away, it was still early and the line was short, and got my ususal 15.4.

You should look into adding Trailing Arms to get rid of the wheel hop. I had crazy wheel hop on mine but after adding the TAs it all went away. Now I'm having to leave soft so I don't burn the tires up.

I went with Spohn's Del-Sphere TAs which I think are the best option. One of the most popular is BMR but there is also Pfadt and LSR. Do a search on these in the Suspension section.

Also, don't forget to lower the air pressure in your tires to around 23-25 psi.

How so? My stock stick Camaro is a complete nightmare to try and launch compared to any auto ive ever raced. The Burnout , Pre staging , Staging at the correct RPM without staging to deep and keeping the car from rolling forward , Slipping the clutch as you launch instead of dumping it , Rolling into the throttle as the car is trying to hook up. Finding that sweet spot where it comes out perfect, for me anyways its no easy task. Getting a good 60' is a chore being consistent with your launches in this car is damn near impossible. I havent drove a new auto Camaro which im sure it is difficult to launch but it cant be this tough.

Use your e-brake to hold the car in an exact spot and you can also feel better as the clutch comes out when to release it. Just hold the e-brake button in so it is quick and easy to release. At least on my other car, that works for me.
