Who has a Droid?

Well Stephs phone has been acting up for a while, so Kathie and I took it to Verizon this last weekend and they said it had gotten wet and showed us. Needless to say Stephanie says it never did. Yeah right, she dropped 1 phone in a tub, lost one tricker treating and I am supposed to believe this.

So anyway we have the insurance but they tell us it will be 50.00 bucks to replace the phone since it got wet. But then the lady says you know you have 2 phones that could be upgraded now. One being mine and one Zac's. They tell us about buy 1 get one free Droid and rebates, after rebates 2 new phones for 49.00. Humm do not have to be a rocket scientist to figure this one out.

Zac said he would give his upgrade to Steph if I gave him my Black Berry Storm. So I said sure. So now I have a Droid. So fill me in on all the cool stuff. Oh it is the Motorola one one.

Thanks ahead of time.

Scott

I hate AT&T. I'd love to get the incredible, but no we're stuck with the iPhone. Might pick up the new Aria or w/e when it comes out though.

Getting the Sprint Evo next week. Take it to GM Nationals next weekend. Friend at work just picked hers up. Super fast and can pull up Camaro5 when I'm on breaks at work.

I have the droid Incredible. It rocks just as Rudack and Dallas have said.
Add sywpe to the list of apps https://beta.swype.com/
Heres some other apps:
Aloqa
easy tether
handcent SMS
scanner radio
speedtest
Aviation weather
Weatherbug
ustream

2 people I work with went with sprint Evo's and this phone screen is huge. Videos look great and it has a kickstand to sit the phone upright on its own. Lotta real estate to view video and such. only downside in my opinion is the sprint nertwork. Spotty around here. 4G will be great when it becomes available

But you have to make sure the vol is turned down when you are at car club meetings.

Next week on the 23rd, Verizon will be launching a new Droid, probably the Xtreme. 4.3" screen. That's what I'm waiting for. Rumors maybe version 2.2 with Flash 10.1. Day before the iPhone 4 launch. You know they've been working hard on this one. They wanted to get it out there before iPhone.

4.3 maybe a little large for a cell for me.

I am not a phone connoisseur, but I was wondering since I have Sprint, can I get a droid? I like the idea of the daily updated navigation feature since our Camaro's don't have nav.

Thanks

I was considering getting the droid since I am with Verizon. However looking at GM's site for Bluetooth, it shows that the droid doesn't do auto answering with Bluetooth in Camaro?

Is that right?

My Samsung SCH I760 doesn't do auto pairing, but if I am paired and have it connected via bluetooth, I can answer the incoming call hands free. That is a *HUGE* issue if the Droid doesn't do that.

I have used both the incredible and the moto droid. End result is i prefer the moto droid. More rugged, and i like the keyboards better, touch and physical qwerty.

Incredible felt fragile like a kids toy, drop tested it, and the screen cracked first drop. Droid X looks pretty sweet IMO, Always something new coming from verizon. Give it another 3 months and there will be a Droid XYZ Awesome phone! LMAO

I have a Motorola droid and it allows me to answer the call by pressing the button on the steering wheel. It auto pairs as well.

I've had one since about March, and I love it. It does some weird things every now and then, but nothing that hinders the phone's usage. I wish Motorola/verizon would push 2.2 for the Droid already!

How did you get that? I am still at 2.1 and on Verizon.

Also we got our rebates already and put them towards the bill.

I have the Moto Droid and like it. Robo Defense is a great time waster.

If you drop your phone in water you should remove the battery ASAP and pack it inside a bag of uncooked rice for a few days. That will save them some cases.
