Help Removing license plate and mount.

Alright so I attempted taking my front license plate of today just to see how it would look but after taking off the actual license plate to remove the mount there where two screws but I dont know what tool to use to remove it.

Any of you guys have an idea of what tool to use?

Thanks.

They are rivets....you have to drill them out. Use a bit about twice the size of the hole in the center, once you drill in a little the head should pop off.
Once the bracket is removed you will be left with holes in the bumper cover....looks pretty hideous. I had mine professionally filled from the backside and painted. THe shop said that some places fill them from the front(easier since the cover doesn't have to come off) but that it doesn't last long before the holes are noticable from the filler shrinking or something to that effect. Cost varies but the shop that did mine said they get about $400 IIRC. Dealer paid to have mine done.

Should have told your dealer you didn't want the front plate. That's what I did, never been ticketed for it.

O also, she looks 10x better without the front plate.

Man That Sucks, I don't know if MO requires a front plate, They give you two at the DMV so thats probably my answer, I really hate needing a front plate

There are "bumper plugs" available to fill the holes. Search the internet, there are some that are already painted to match. Otherwise get some at a auto supply store and get some touch up paint to paint them.

Somebody like Bumper Medic might be able to fill the holes at a reasonable cost. It seems that there are a lot of companies doing this type of bumper repair.

Good luck OP. It does look pretty awful, 4 gaping holes. The dealer I bought from will pay to have mine patched, but yea you're not going to find anything to remove the rivets. Use a drill like someone else said, or have the dealer remove them.

It hurts me to post this pic but yes, yes they are. My advice is, if you take it off make sure to pony up $300+ to get them fixed, because you're not gonna be able to put them back without rivets. It's a major PITA honestly, I'm working with my dealer to have them fix it, but in TX it's required so yours may not.

you can cover them up with Bumper Plugs, they are available in your colour (Victory Red)

I looked at those...I'm too anal where the bumper plugs probably wouldn't work for me (not flush). I'd shell out the few hundy to fill them in. The dealer should be able to take care of it body shop-style though, waiting to see...

Two plates are required here in Washington State. I told my dealer if they mount the plate holder, I would not take the car and the deal would be off. Too bad the Camaro doesn't come with something like what the Corvette has for the front plate.

Finally fixed! Brought it to a nearby body shop, dealer took care of it. Looks brand new, compare to my post above!

Highly recommend Classic Chevy for taking care of it, and Magic Touch Body Shop in Lewisville for their quality work.
