i gotta bitch about something since i rarely have anything to bitch about when it comes to my camaro

car shows....just arent the same anymore...

prior to my camaro i owned a supercharged v6 grand am gt....and it won 3 trophies last summer....

now i own the sharpest abm camaro in the area...with rarity running thru the cars veins....yet attending every weekend car show since the end of april...ive won nothing...

i even attended the first point driven show yesterday with my dad (77 MGB) and neither of us won...how the hell...my car is IMMACULATE inside and out...and ive done a ton of work to it already..

my dads car has a new carb...new exhaust and is immaculate for a car thats a 1977...

i feel these shows are strictly on if you know someone...because chevy 3 and i attended a show in CT saturday in which the first 6 or 7 winners were from the host city....this isnt fair to people who pay bucks and bucks to modify their car...keep it looking prestine...and pay admission to the shows, buy raffle tickets, and food...

if you or anyone you know is a car show judge...slap them or yourself

your job is to judge on 3 principles....worksmanship, cleanliness and originality

example...a bone stock 2010 Grand Sport Corvette holds no car show value over a 2010 Camaro with mods...there is no worksmanship in the term bone stock...ok maybe its clean but the dude literally bought it days before...originality....another corvette? theyre becoming like toyota camrys of the summer months...theyre everywhere....a camaro that is 1 of 3610 sure has the edge in my eyes

Alot of times new stock cars don't win because,well, they are just new cars. They think,yup it's clean as hell. Looks like the one at the dealer.

Mod it up with visuals.

I read these complaints fairly frequently. It's either all the "local" cars winning - or "girls acting as judges, picking out the pretty cars cause they don't know their (well, you know where I'm going with this).

Enjoy the showmanship and the experience.

Are local car clubs putting these own? I bet a lot of the winner are members of those particular clubs. Happens around here a great deal. CaniacFan has a point, but not just girls. You will find that it is people that just don't know about cars period; they may like the color, they may like the rims, or it has a sticker on it they like. Don't let it get to you. Have had my camaro for a year now and have done many mods to the car. I have won one car show, that was the first weekend I had it and with no mods. Enjoy the car!

Dude, I like your car, and yes, you keep it really clean, and you had some good mods (so does Charlie). I'm sorry man, it sucks.

It wasn't until I saw your ABM that I got a really good appreciation for the color.

I suspect i will put a freeze on all unnecessary car spending after the exhaust and splash guards are on....my fiance is rather irritated at me lol

oh yah i almost forgot the SLP RS Bowtie Delete in the grille...i have the rear bowtie delete too but im waiting on if i really want to elminate the bowtie back there or not

Most of the car shows I've taken my camaro to pissed me off not because I didn't win but because all I heard was that anyone can go buy a new car and take it to a show. I stopped taking my car. Now I just go as a spectator. People take it too seriously if you ask me. I just wanted to go to hang out with other car guys ,but most of the time I just got spit on for having a new car.

I find that somtimes you have to keep going to some shows before they count your ride in the mix.some things that bother me is when the call the car owners and it's like there best friends (hey bob come on down or hey george here you go)till the club members meet you and can put a face with a ride your out of luck.consistency is key to winning or getting respect from other clubs.
