These are the first photos we have seen of a group of 2011 Camaro convertibles in preproduction form and out testing. Spotted somewhere 2 hours north of Toronto and in a group of seven, the cars look to be in pretty final preproduction form.

The latest update was that the 2011 Camaro convertible is slated for production beginning in the second half of 2011, although judging by how final the convertible looks in these photos, we would not be surprised if production was started earlier than that!

considering its only my second post i thought it may as well be important

Not really liking the vert honestly. But cool that more of them are floating around for testing purposes

Great pics, Too bad it was raining and the tops were up, but anyways I don't care if others don't like it, My opinion is even with the top up they look better than 90 percent of the ragtops out today...

I agree, and If we could afford one (still no job), That would be our next car.

Is that the satellite antenna on the back of the car? Yuck. I was looking forward to possibly getting a black vert, but that thing is pretty ugly looking sitting on the trunk like that

I think they kept the roofline pretty well from the coupe. But I think every body is wanting to see it with the top down.

overall the car looks fantastic, but the antennas could use some major re-doing.

Makes sense. The FM antenna is in the glass on the coupe. The Sharkfin I believe is for Onstar and XM.

I like them myself.. just curious if there's more headroom when the top is up than a hardtop, or if there's less headroom?

I have a convertible now, I believe it will be my last. It is just too noisy in the cabin.

Wow, didn't even notice the second antenna before. Now I am really disgusted with the antennas. I originally was very pysched about the vet, but I dunno. Those antennas are pretty ugly looking...

Anyone think maybe because these are pre-production they will change it before the car actually goes into main production? I know for a fact you don't NEED to have the antenna (at least the xm one) out on display. Aftermarket installs put them inside the cabin all the time and they work just fine (for the most part)

I'm not sure about that, I think you would need an FM antenna, and I wouldn't let that detail prevent me from getting the car. I was originally going to wait until the convertable, but realized how bad I burn, and how much I hate noise, so I decided to get mine with a sunroof.

Something else I just noticed too. No bowtie on the trunk on the silver one.

It looks very good! Can't wait to see one with the windows/top down, I think the rear wheel flares will look badass. Not a fan of the antenna nor the 3rd brake light like most people though, but I'm sure it'll look great in person.
