D'oh!!!

So I did the idiotic today... It's been snowing the past few days here in Michigan and after parking my Camaro this morning I turned to look back and saw a lot of snow lodged up between the front wheel well and the tire... What do I instinctively do? I kick the rocker panel to knock the snow loose!!!

I couldn't believe what I had just done! My only defense is that my last vehicle was a Nissan Xterra and it was commonplace.

I had to apologize profusely to my Camaro for the display of domestic abuse.

Come on, fess up. I know I cant be the ONLY one to do this. (only those in snow covered states need reply )

I did that once when I lived in Anchorage, and ripped the fender flare off my car...

I used to do that all the time. I get to park in a heated garage at work now, so lately I just let it melt off.

I do it daily to my car, but will never do it to the Camaro, because it will never see snow. Props to you for conquering the snow in a Camaro though

Sorry, you're the only one...

I've always done that to my Jeep... I've taken the Camaro to a DIY car wash w/ hot high pressure water to force any excess snow or ice off.

I have but only when it is absolutely needed! Try to kick the snow without hitting the car, but sometimes shit happens. No damage so far!

I heard your Camaro let out it's scream "OUCH" all the way on the West Coast.

The closest my Camaro got to the snow yesterday was when I opened the garage to take a picture of the amount of snow we'd received.

The Camaro was just smiling : o)

I must confess.........

When the 98s came out - I had a Durability car at a Camaro event.

Now - "Durability cars" have been turned every which way but loose....they're non-saleables - and they usually have a very sad ending. (I still can't watch....)

You'll recall that we'd just done the front sheetmetal over - and added the LS1 engine - plus there were, as I recall, over 1,000 new part numbers on the car -- so there tons of new 'under-the-skin' improvements.

I was doing a product walk-around for a couple hundred Camaro enthusiasts..... 'splaining what all of these differences were and WHY it would be important to them............(I really love doing that sort of thing.....)

You may also recall that the doors, roof, and decklid were made of SMC and the front fenders were made of RIM material.........meaning: "They weren't metal and they didn't dent!" That was an important advantage versus the Mustang........

So I'm doing the walk-around - I quietly reached in the driver's side window opening - pulled out a brand new rubber mallet - -and "hauled off" and hit the door with one heckofa bang.......i mean it was like someone dropped a load of books from 20 feet.......to the point that a few women screamed....

(.......now - don't try this at home,please....)

...........My point was that the doors could take quite an impact and not show any damage...........the small smudge that was left I immediately hit with some polish and .....wonder of wonders......the smudge disappeared....!!

So - later that evening at the Event's Banquet - I was doing a Q and A Session - when some young woman got up - with a very disgusted look on her face - -and said (in a perfect southern accent, I might add...)

"When you hit that poor Camaro with that hammer this afternoon - THAT WAS JUST LIKE SLAPPIN' YOUR MOMMA!!!!........"

......and she'd be right...............

Could have been worse... I could have peed on it to help melt the snow!

I recently had ralley stripes and a front splitter installed so those count as an apology ex post facto.
