bumpstops-cut or no cut

looking for pete and mikes input here.. install pedders coilovers /sways / diif bush/tie rod ends and few other parts.. i am looking to drop approx 1 1/4 and also have a razzi kit...will be installing next week- my installer does not like to remove bumpstops due to ground effects issue and has seen tires get ripped up inside fenders{ there is a recent post of someone who has done this} ..whats the consensus on this [ someone mentioned trimming them down }...how about it.. thanks:updown:

Since you have coilovers it's not an issue. The bumpstop issue is with the factory struts/shocks with drop springs.

Do you have factory wheels? If you do, tire to fender clearance is ok at 1 1/4 drop. You'll need to baby that chin spoiler over speed bumps tho

If you have aftermarket wheels and the offset is too far out you can get into the fenders.

How low is that Razzi kit compared to stock?

...Mike & Pete aren't on as much on weekends.

Have no fear, Mike is here! Actually i am probably on the forums about 10 ours or so on the weekends. Just sometimes at odd hours.

The Xa coil overs are unique. And under no terms do you want to cut the bump stops. Why? One of the reasons our coil overs offer the best ride of any coil over out there is we do not use the lower spring seat to adjust height. We do, however, have an adjustment procedure to out a small amount of compression on the coil to keep it tight when it is in the air. We adjust our height by threading the strut in/out of the lower mounting brackets. Therefore, you have the same great wide quality literally at any height you want to set her at. It seems to average about 1.5 inches is the drop of choice. But put her where you would like.

I have a DIY manual that has just been upgraded. Send me your email, and I will send it to you.

Thanks
mike

thanks mike , i should be getting those parts from you this week..could you send me the manual ..stoxpix@comcast.net...also razzi will def be low up front...and i am now stock wheel but going savini or lexani in near future{ as large tire as i can fit , will stay with 20,s though}...my installer said same , he would rather i bottom out on stops then tear into tires or gf kit...but i read other posts where guys said they cut...wanted to know where pedders stood on this..i feel even better about extreme perf doing my pedders, as they said same as mike..i would like 1 1/2 , just feel nervous with gf, i see pics of petes front and that looks scary close to ground..i will print out post and give to my shop.. kudos to pedders for quik reply

I really love the look of your Camaro. Can you send me some pictures of her dropped so I can add it to my collection?

So how about this height?

AFTER PICTURES SET UP FOR 75% AGGRESSIVE STREET, AND 25% AGGRESSIVE DRAG

AFTER PICTURES SET UP FOR 75% AGGRESSIVE STREET, AND 25% AGGRESSIVE DRAG

This was a little over 1.5 inches. The back end is a little higher than I like, but he needed some room for some drag radials.

You will notice the rears are different between the 2 pictures. Customer saw the rears and wanted it taller for a big drag radial.
