aftermarket wheels

So the front and rear sizes are different on the SS I think.
If I get aftermarket ones should I tr to stick with the stock sizes?

I want black rims but I'm not about to spend $4k to get them from chevy.

I could always keep the stock wheels and powder coat them.

I might powdercoat the stock 1SS wheels black also, so I dont have to store or sell another set of 20's. I had summer/winter rims for two of our cars and it became a pain moving the rims and tires around.

Here are some that I think would go well on the Camaro and all are available in size 20 x 8.5 with either a 5 x 115 or 5 x 120 offset. I think the Camaro will have the 5 x 120 as it is the offset used on the Cadillac CTS and most other sinilar sized GM cars. All rims are from American Racing

I think the PCD will be 5x120 with a bore size of 67mm, but the aftermarket better sort out the offset range of their wheels as Camaro is based on the VE commodore and they have +48 on the front and +57 at the rear.

All the wheels I like are around +20 max.

Rodtana had a few nice wheels on show at SEMA for the Camaro

I like them anyway. I think they're so classic they can't go out of style.

Problem with these is I prefer satin black, and I can go for gloss but I don't want the polished lip center cap or rivets. Also they only come in 20x11 so I'd have to have the fronts cut (another $150 each)

"Euro" We have a design team that is lining up various aftermarket vendors to do a full custom as soon as the vehicle is delivered. (Brakes/Full Exhaust/Tune/Wheels/suspension Lowering/Paint/Etc.) I will pass on any information as we make final decisions for anyone who wants to have those connections.

Thats cool as you may have noticed I am in Europe at the moment (well for a few more years if all goes well).

I heard from a guy on the GM stand at SEMA that there is a company in England that are producing stuff for the Camaro too.

Sounds like lots of good stuff for us keep us informed

You will have to do that anyway cuz the Camaro doesn't come with a spare tire, unless you add/pay extra for that option.

Hi,

The +48 and +57 are the "offset" of the wheels on the Holden VE Commodor (which the Camaro is based on)

so +48 means the mounting pad is 48mm out from the centre line of the wheel.

A lot of wheel dealers call this offset a front wheel drive offset.

Most current rwd cars are around +10 to 20

If anyone gets a chance to see a Camaro up close, take a mirror along with you and look behind the wheel spokes, as the wheel sizes are normaly cast into the back of the spokes.

hope this helps

I'm going to have to save a few years for the wheels I want. Forgelines are pretty expensive. These are the S03S
