Im not 100% up to speed on the issue..

Could you front mount an oil cooler and just have a separate oiling system for the turbo. You could put an oil pressure / temp sensors on the outlet side of the sts pump.

After SEMA we are going to tap into the oil pan and return the oil into the pan instead of the valves.
I think I'm going to just tap in to the oil pan. Not sure if we will get to this before SEMA but if I do, I'll bring pictures for you.

I like your thinking. The issue is the high pressure in the block due to the higher boost and having the oil forced out of the pcv hose. More of a design issue I think. STS uses a very simple system that returns the oil by using a modified oil fill cap. For the 5 psi. Of boost, doesn't seem to be an issue, but running 7+ we are discovering issues like this. A solution may be a separate oiling system, not sure. I think I'm going to try tapping in to the oil pan as it will help to get oil to pan more efficiently.

would you be able to take pictures of the set up now just so i can visually see what you guys are refering to. i plan on doing this set up but i want higher boost like you and all the information i can get, the better i will be. what if you ran a catch can and have the catch can drain into the pan?

I know every one would like to get more boost, but with 350 hp at the wheels with 5lbs, How much more can you go before you blow/replace the transmission. If I remember correctly it was 340ish with a 5000lbs car, so were does that leave our 3600lbs Camaros.

We would need to either see the dyno data or know the RPMs at the peak HP. Let's say he's getting 350 HP at 6000 RPM. If he loses 18% power through the drivetrain, he's making 426 HP at the crank (sound familiar). That means about 372 TQ. Remember, this is at 6000 RPM so he is probably safe for three reasons:

1) Once going, the tranny can take more torque as long as you don't dump it on all at one time.

2) He's probably making less torque at lower engine speeds

3) The tranny was rated for a 5000 lb car, we are about 3/4 that weight.

20X9.5 and 20X11. 275's up front and 315's out back. Perfect fit as Forgelines had the perfect offset for the Camaros. Just a bit expensive.

And I also have a WRX. This one came with a Turbo. I 'm really getting into turbo'd cars.

Scott at MRT has turbo-charged a whole fleet of SEMA cars... Mustangs (both V8 and V6 with a twin setup), Edge, Fusion, Focus, Lincoln MKZ... and after having driven then, well, I'm going to hold out for a turbo on this car!!! LOL

But no Camaro? Well, our friends at Unrestricted Motorsports will be showing their V6 STS Turbo Camaro at SEMA this year. I'm looking forward to attending this year's SEMA. Hopefully get some news about the Z-28.

STS can do a twin if you want, but of course will cost a bit more than the single. Have you been able to get a test ride in Rich's car? You guys have to get out before the track closes. Just watch those deers.

I was thinking a turbo one day when they get the system all ironed out, but has to be legal here in Cali. Or I can always move!

STS decided not to produce a twin for the V-6 but they did do one which was on display at last years SEMA. The car is owned by the guy that owns DSO Eyewear. Supposedly the car has be all over the place to promote their company. However, I don't think its at auto shows. And I don' think the guy is a car junky so no tracking. Check out the DSO website, there is a picture of the Camaro where you can see the twins in the rear and the V-6 motor up front. I think he won for best interior at SEMA that year.

STS decided to sell the single for the V-6 and the Twin for the V-8. I believe its more cost vs. power as I don't think the twins did anything for the power. Right now the limitation on the car is not the Turbo itself but the tuning to take the higher amounts of boost. I don't think it makes sense to run twins at 5 psi total. Also, they run single for many applications like the LS-1 which I have heard puts down some serious power on just the single. I am sure they would sell you one but it will be much more than the $5,995 price of the single.

o ok thank you for the info on this but do you know if they will make one if they ever figure out how to push the boost past 5 psi w/o problems

Probably not for the v-6. Not too many people buying the single kit as is, don't think it would be worth it to offer twin but you should ask STS directly. They should be able to easily do the twin since the set-up is very similar to the v-8. They said the boost is slower with the twin.

I was just wondering if you can buy the kit without the turbo instead buy a bigger aftermarket turbo? just wondering. . .. .
