colorshift ABL!

So this is what we got so far. As you can see the dash is working and the footwell as well. Doors should be functional, as well as the left side of the dash before July 3rd (for Modesto car show). If you live in California and willing to drive to Modesto or Lodi for something like this to be done let me know! At this moment, we are trying to figure out pricing. There's a bit of work to be done to the trim in order for the strips to fit. We can also pain the trim if you'd like! I should have more pics later this week. RGB strips are from AAC. Thanks Jessica and the rest of the employees at AAC for the great customer service! I'll be for sure getting all my lighting needs from them

(I'll be posting a pic of the yellow ASAP, for some reason I can't upload it at the moment.)

the strip is placed on the dash, so the light would be shooting out at a low angle. we had to do some altering to the trim for the light not to shine through. and np! we're all brothers/sisters here
if you don't mind a trip to Northern California, we can do the whole installation process

Don't think it works with the cloth interior trim, But you can buy the plastic parts from your dealer.

yea.. not too sure it'll work with the cloth. my buddy and I are trying to figure something out (have to see the cloth panels in person). i'm pretty sure you'd have to get the plastic trim.

Your project came out great, the RGB strips are fun because they allow you to get creative and come up with cool ideas like this.

I love the way that the footwells mimic the color of the ABL strip, definitely a cool mod

I need to see this in person, but I might be very interested. are the led strips broken up like they show in the pictures, or is it a single solid line like the stock abl on the doors?

Well you know... I always gotta give you guys a shout out! Haven't been unsatisfied yet! (maybe the soldering jobs need to a tad bit better on the RGB strips, sorry! )

Thanks for the complement... It's a bit different because the strips are so much brighter than the stock light tubes. In fact, they were so bright that the shinned right through the paint/panel. So we had to figure out some way to block that. All in all it's pretty similar to how people installed the lighting tube.

And yes.... The footwells were a spontaneous thing. We were actually figuring out the door lighting at first. We ran into some problems, so we just used the lights for the footwells and they came out awesome Hopefully we can get the doors working ASAP.

I've been trying to get to the Cali meetings, but some things unfortunately come up. Hopefully I'll be able to get to one soon so you can see them!; They're actually broken up. They are LEDs, not a continuous stream of light like the stock lighting tube.

It will be tricky to get the footwells to work with the dome light and still use the remote. It can be done using a relay though I believe.

At the moment I'm not too worried about the dome light lol. I think there'll be enough light when the doors are done lol. There's plenty already =)
