You'll be very happy with the v-6.....Unless you want to race all the time then the v-8 but then that should be done at the track only anyway....Just my 2 cents...We love ours...

I don't race around all of the time with V8, all my Camaro's are V8's, I would have a lot of tickets if your theory was correct

I probably didn't state that correctly. Basically stating that the v-6 has plenty of power. And the v-8 if raced should be on the track. They are both beautiful and have plenty of horsepower where and when you need it.

I test drove both the V8 and the V6 at one time and I was very impressed with the V8, but it actually is too much for me, when I tried the V6 I was very impressed even though it was right after I hopped out of the V8, I have a 2004 Super Charged Monte Carlo V6 and it is rated at 260 hp and so obviously the V6 Camaro felt a lot faster and stronger. To be honest with you I really never raced the Monte Carlo much save for a few times that i would open it up out on a country road once in a while here and there. The V6 Camaro is way more then I will ever need even though I really like the power of the SS, but in all reality I highly suggest the V6, unless you are going to race it on the track or something. Remember this.....you can always add some power adding goodies to the V6 if you are not satisfied with the power over time.
I plan on spending the money on a loaded out RS V6 Convertible, I feel that that is a well balanced combination that shouldn't get you into any speeding troubles with the law, yet still once in a while you will have the power to just open it up and have some fun with it.

That's exactly how I would expect you to drive it! Turnabout is fair play, so expect the Indy to get the "stolen" treatment

The v6 is all I'll need. I just love the look of the car. Excpet the blindspot. I would have had it this week if the numbers were better. They was gonn sell me 1lt rs for 459 a month for 84 months, with 6.49 % financing. That was with a car traded I that had 4700 dollars left in the pay off. Yes I can afford it but it hardly leaves me money to have on the weekends

My dad says wait till they mark down the prices to get to get rid of them. But with my luck they won't do that and they wouldn't have one like I wanted

The blind spot is fairly massive with this car. I do feel its easy to inadvertently pull out in front of oncoming traffic. Just gotta be extra cautious.

I almost took out a Vette the other day, that C-pillar is ginormous. As far as V8 or V6, the 8 was a little out of my price range, and I'm very happy with the 6. There's a guy in my apt complex with a black SS, and I love the throaty rumble when he idles by...that's one thing I wish the 6 piped out more, but like someone else said, there's mods for that.

I drove the V8 and while very impressed, I got the V6. Loved the power that the V8 has, but I travel back and forth to work 60 miles a day on the average, so the V8 was out. Then I drove the V6, was not even going to drive it, I figured waste of money and IF your going to get a Camaro You don't get the weak in the knees V6. Anyway drove it love it gets better millage than my Sonoma V6 4.8 and got better millage than my Hyundia XG350 with a 3.8 liter V6.

Gets 21-24 mpg in 1998 GMC Sonoma
Got 22 - 24 mpg in 2005 Hyundia ( still Pissed about that cars Gas millage)

I've had v6 for a little over a week and I couldn't be more happy. I came from a 5 spd manual 06 cobalt 2.2l and I think the SS would be too much power for me, as well as being way too expensive for me. V6 has plenty of power for your average driver. very good MPG and power when you need it!

I love my 1LT/RS! Give her a nice exhaust and an intake and you'll love it even more!

Anyways, dont mean to jack this thread but don't stretch yourself completely thin just to own a car. 84 months??...thats a long long time to keep makin big car payments.

And why does everyone talk about blind spots? If you set up your mirrors properly for on the road driving, there are none. I even tested it out today while driving down the road, and I could literally see a car moving out of my rear view, into my side view (could see half in back, half in the side), and finally once moving out of the side mirror I could see them through the window.

SET UR MIRRORS! lol. Sorry for the rant.

I did the same thing on my Avalanche and it makes a huge difference, I too no longer have those nasty huge blind spots that are inherent with Avalanches.

Your right it is. I was talking about pulling out the dealers lot, and had go look for oncoming traffic and it was a bitch. Cuz he was in the way of me seeing clearly
