Is this ridiculous?

Our development was recently chip and sealed. I think it is crazy. We are in the first or second nicest developments in the township. We are the only development to have this happen to. It gets all of our cars messy. We were barely coasting down the road and the back of our car was covered. The trustees of the township said some nonsense like in this article below, and it needs to stay for a year to fully bond. How stupid are you? Im 14 and know better than to believe this trash.

Probably stones and liquid asphalt.

They use to do that in the country where I lived mid summer for winter traction they said. And yea it don't get hard fast. And then it only gives ice a place to grib and stick well, and then the snow plows pick most of it off like a scab, making spring to mid summer fun driving too.

Crap BS for not fixing things right.

you think you have it bad.

I live in a small community that is bordered by two major roadways. Both of these have been under re-construction for two months now.One for complete blacktop replacement and the other main paved road to town has been tar/stoned and sealed both directions for miles and miles. So I have had my car in the garage for up to two weeks at a time waiting them out.Have to drive her some times and removing this stuff has been a bear. Thanks to a few coats of rejex sealer,a little wd4o and washing with mequires super soap it has made it somewhat bearable.Definitely cutting back on my driving experience as a result.Thats what those obama dollars(stimulus) are doing for us.!!!

Hosing the hinds quarter of the car with wd-40 will keep stuff like that from stickin, it won't strip the wax or hurt paint/decals.....

They repaved a huge section of the main road I live off of....painted all the lines on it....then repaved it again two weeks later....um? What genius thought painting lines on a road you were going to pave a second time sounded like good financial sense?

I get that a road without lines is a hazard as too many people out there are stupid but...can't we just do the job right the FIRST time and get it complete without taking unnecessary breaks?

around here they always seem to tear up the roads for construction right in the middle of the summer.

A road between my town and a neighboring town was just torn up for "repairs." I put that in quotes because the road was not in need of repair, and was actually better before they "fixed" it. What a waste of resources!! Imagine what the millions of dollars it cost (i.e. wasted) could have done if it had gone toward something productive. And they want to raise gas taxes significantly in may state (which already tops the nation in gas tax) because they say there isn't enough money for roads.

Iowa has 4 seasons: Not Winter Yet, Winter, Still Winter, and Road Construction (think that may have been a jeff foxworthy quote)
