Thanks venom for posting these up - this was exactly what I was wondering. It is a great color, however it really confirmed that GM isn't actually offering an orange for the first year of production. Just a dark red, a medium red, and a metallic color-changing red.

Will probably change my order to white now and get a 2-tone color scheme w/ white and hugger orange - probably the way to go as I'll have to get the ground effects painted anyway

It really confuses me why GM would post the pic below on their site and call it IOM after seeing these pics. The only color that matches this I've seen are the cutaway pics which has a real orange on it (which you can also tell isn't a metallic paint). The rest are all red. Really red. Very confusing as all the other colors they've posted on the GM site are pretty much spot on. Any of you GM insiders have the scoop??? I don't want to cancel my order just to wait to see this color in person

OT, but man does cyber grey look sick in this pic. I think it's going to look fantastic on the SS/RS with the midnight silver wheels

Is everyone on here being sarcastic? The camaro is just as red as the Ferrari 599 in the background - and NOTHING is more red than a Ferrari

Don't get me wrong, it's a gorgeous color... but it's nowhere near orange

Any metal flakes in the paint? Victory red is not metallic, IOM is

Guys, you need to go see IOM in person. Period. You will never confuse it with red. It does not look dull. A camera can never replicate what your eye can see.

I've seen it side by side with Hugger orange and it looks easily reddish next to a real orange color..

I asked and they wouldn't turn it on.. Furthermore they wouldn't open the hood because it had the LS3 in it..

I don't get it...of course it has the LS3. I hate "autoshows" that don't show anything we haven't already seen.

I'm guessing you don't know the story behind that particular red RS???

On the outside, it appears to be a v6 model but it actually has an LS3 in it. Scott ordered it as a v8 show car but it was modified to look like a v6 model when GM decided to push the v6 models instead of the V8. They left the LS3 in it since it would just be sitting on display.

I was in Miami earlier today and had to stop by the auto show to see the Camaro.

And asked if they would turn on the ambient lighting too, but the reply they gave me was "this is an earlier pre production car, and it does not have the ambient lighting in it"
Granted she also was positive that there was going to be a torque gauge in the 4 pack cluster so no telling how reliable her info was :P

Anyway, speaking of the Miami auto show, one of the GM stands had a panel with all of the Chevy colors on it painted on computer mice, got a couple pics of that with IOM on it..
Some with flash, some without, to show how much IOM can play tricks on the camera.

It really is a color that must be seen in person..

Now that i'm 180+ miles from the auto show I realized that it would have been a good idea to get a close up of victory red too, but it's a little late for that lol

Ok, for those that have seen it in person, which color is IOM? The reddish non-flash picture or the orangeish flash photo color?

And where is the rally yellow mouse?

The Solstice I saw in Indy and the Hummer I see every day look like the picture on the left. Close up flash pictures seem to give IOM a concept orange look that I have never seen with the naked eye, even in bright sunlight.

That might explain the NACE photos, the photographer probably used a high power flash to take those pictures.

I must admit that with flash photography, IOM looks nearly identical to the Camaro concept orange, too bad it looks like tomato soup most of the time.

I have to agree with this assessment. Tomato soup is a good description of the IOM I have seen on the solstice and hummer, even in very bright sunlight. It seems artificial flash makes the IOM look like the orange we love, but only for a split second. I guess if you are Paris Hilton getting out of an IOM camaro with dozens of flash bulbs going off at the same time, the color of the car would really look the way I would want my orange to look like. Don't get me wrong, IOM is a pretty color and all those ordering it will be getting what they want. However if you believe the color IOM is going to look like is the color on the right of the cutaway, then you will be disappointed... Notice the Sunburst Orange Metallic in the center doesn't change as drastically with or without the flash. I like that color as well.. The Sunburst Orange is the orange in the middle row under the metallic dark red.
