Another Rear Window Louver option!

So once again, Poison Ivy has become the MRT test mule! Worked with Scott a while back on getting all the measurements... and today we fitted the proto-type!

Now... I understand some people HATE louvers... or they think they belong back in the 80's... Heck I wasn't really sold on them... BUT after seeing the proto-type on my car... wow, I think they look great! Even in the bare aluminum! Can't wait for the finished product! (In BLACK!)

Scott checking the fit:

The MRT louvers are HINGED at the top and clipped at the bottom... so easy access to the window for cleaning! Top mounts:

Couple more pics:

I'm geeked to see them in black!!!!

Me want. I'd love to offer my 2SS as a guinea pig when the powder coated version gets developed.

Got to say that I love the look of louvers on the 5th Gen Camaro! Probably the 1st Camaro since the 1st Gen when the louvers looked like part of the vehicle and not just an add on to cover up the huge glass hatch that adorned the 3rd and 4th gens.

Anyways, I will be interested in seeing pictures of this one when done in powdercoated black as I think it will contrast much better than the current unfinished look of steel.

Still like mine, however, the more different styles the better IMO.

Thanks, All! I will pass the feedback on to Scott!

I will update as I get more information... Also even though these are just the proto-type, Scott's going paint these black... so we can get a better idea of what the finished product will look like!

Digging these for sure!

Like yours too, RetroDude. Where did you get yours? Are they full bolt on or hinged?

One thing that struck me yesterday was how well, the curved end of the slats followed with the rest of the cars body lines.... and I see i simply did NOT capture that in these pictures! Of course it might be one of those things you simply need to see in person... These were just some quick snapshots with the good old point-n-shoot camera... I will get the good camera out and do a more thorough job!

You will also be able to get the louvers with prop rods (they hide out of the way) so makes cleaning really easy! (ok, assuming since the Mustang version has prop rods available)

Reminds me of the louvers I had on my then-new 82 Camaro. It had hinges and prop rods as well and made cleaning a breeze. But they were aluminum, and a PITA since they were so huge. And rattled some which was annoying. I know these smaller versions probably won't, but I swore it was the last set I'd ever have, and so far so good.
