Exhaust cutouts or exhaust diverters feedback

I am looking for feed back from those of you that have electric cutouts or diverters on your exhaust system. I guess there are two makes to choose from; No-Weeds and Quick Time Performance.

Please answer the following:

1. Which brand do you have?
2. Do you have headers on your car"
3. Any exhaust leakage (even the slightest) in the closed position?
4. Any quality issues?
5. Any operational issues?

I am not looking for power gains, but only the ability to control exhaust system sound quality and exhaust system sound volume.

Alfie

1. Which brand do you have? QTP
2. Do you have headers on your car" Not yet, but very soon I will
3. Any exhaust leakage (even the slightest) in the closed position? I have absolutly NO leak at all, just doent open/close when there is load on the engine, idle only!
4. Any quality issues? I think QTP's quality was great, I didnt have any problems with install of usage.
5. Any operational issues? Not issue for me, QTP gives you the choice of having the digital cutout controller, really neat if you look into it.

Hope that helped!

I'm wondering how much louder Cutouts would be over a muffler delete!

QTP's on my Chevelle for three years now. No leaks, installation was easy, absolutely no quality or operation issues. I have headers and 3" exhaust. You are welcome to come by and check them out, since you are not too far from me. I will be at the Motor City Street Rodders show at Brandenburg Park on the 11th, or stop by the house this weekend or after work.

My original question was never about which was louder. Its about the abilty to turn on - turn off.

I was hoping to see you at CJ Barrymore's tonight (thurs). Do you go to their cruise? Not sure if I'll make it to Brandenburg Park...will try. I heard its a great venue. Sooner or later we'll cross paths.

I have QTP for about 7 months now, no leakage, sounds GREAT, and literally 1/3 the cost of Noweeds, although Noweeds does make a great product.

Thanks to all that responded. I got the info I needed and it looks like QTP is on my shopping list. Now I just need to find a good welder/installer in my area.

3. Any exhaust leakage (even the slightest) in the closed position? Nope
4. Any quality issues? I have the system for the automatic and the clamps are not sufficient to keep the exhaust up high enough to not rest on the crossmember towards the rear of the car. Rattles over serious bumps. once the headers are in I will probably have it welded in place to keep it in position.
5. Any operational issues? No. Sounds pretty bad-ass.

I have qtp, no problems at all. My exhaust heat shield rattled some, I bent it slightly, not a sound yet.

3. Any exhaust leakage (even the slightest) in the closed position? No
4. Any quality issues?None what so ever
5. Any operational issues?NONE!

Overall VERY VERY HAPPY and DEFINITELY SATISFIED with Noweeds. I even installed them with my dad and even though it was tough for us due to me having the Borla S-Type Catback when they are designed for Stock exhaust setup. It still works perfectly as it should. When they are open, the diverters close the Borla exhaust completely so that no exhaust gases are still heading to the back of the car. It all dumps out of the diverter down pipes. Hope this helps. Also my headers gave it a very nice deep tone.

Check out DMH as well. They tend to be a little better quality/more reliable than QTP and still won't cost you your first born. Never heard of no-weeds so can't really speak to them other than that as nice as they look I can't imagine spending that on a cut-out. No offense meant to those who choose them. I have to admit they're beautiful pieces.

I have Noweeds on my car, and yes I do have headers. They are a very nice and clean install, and very easy to turn on and off.

As for sound, WOW!!! With the headers and our 427 engine it sounds AMAZING.

I wish you lived closer so you could hear it in person. I am very happy with the product and the fit... there are a few folks on here who might agree that it would be a great option for you.

Hope that helps. Always happy to help.

The Noweeds system comes with a panel that is made to fit directly onto the drivers seat underneath... It also wires to the seat for an easy and clean install. I cannot speak on any other systems since the Noweeds is the only one I have installed so far.

A local custom exhaust shop here in Metro-Detroit quoted me $100 to do the weld and cut portion on the install....I would do the wiring myself.
