So I'm guessing that you can use the parts from the LS3, not a bad price

Not sure, but I don't think so. I built my own lsx for much cheaper than 14k though.

yes and no. the LSX block will be made with the smallest cyl bore they have unless you specifically ask for a certain bore size. the LSX block can be bored all the way out to 511cubes.

yes... 511ci small block. thats 8.3L

http://videos.streetfire.net/video/S...I-in_88467.htm

so technically, you could pull the rotating assy from your LS3, order an LSX block with the same bore and swap it over.

14k for a turn-key lsx 454.

1800 for the block. not bad. it was 2500.

but i think he was talking about the dimensions. they're basically the same size (the blocks are the same dimensions). he never said anything about interchanging GenIII & GenIV heads and intakes

and people take LS2s and put the LS3 heads, intake, & exhaust on them all the time

ummm, not really sure what you are saying, but the LSX can go to 4.25" bore (which would be stupid to do) and can take a 4.5" stroke. thats 511 cubes, it's not just 'bored' to 511.

they come with a 3.990 bore from GM. Your machine shop bores it out to what you want.

I try to simplify things for some members on here so I dont have to come back and explain every single thing.

but why would it be stupid to bore it out to 4.25"? youd still have your 0.02" in your cyl walls.

granted if im going for power, i wouldnt bore it all the way out like that but if I wanted to brag about having a 511ci small block.... I would.

The LSX 454 Shares the same intake bolt pattern as the LS7

The LS3, L76 and L92 share the same intake pattern.

The LS1, LS2 and the LS6 all share the same intake pattern.

We are behind on the release of the LSX 454 at this time.

It should be worth the wait.

Right now the only local source for LSX information down here in Houston has been the GMPP catalogue. It was a whole new language for me since I only knew Ford. Now I know what the options are for the other guy.
I like my chances with LSX7 parts the best. Only me and my machinist will know for sure the CID......
I just hope the rear end holds up.

That's an understatement.
The LSx 454 is going to be the SHIT for N/A performance.

I think adding a TVS 2300 to stock LS3's is going to be a nice solution for the street cars as well.
