Camaro5 Fantasy Bowl III hosting site (new poll)

CBS costs money, so it's out, and no one voted for head2head.com

We have one day to make our votes. I will be closing this tomorrow night.

I had originally thought CBS cost money but when I checked I saw they had Free Leagues too... or is it the setup doesn't have all the bells and whistles we want.

Keep it on Yahoo....

CBS has free leagues that they make, If you want to be a commissioner and host your own league, they have a $30 off promotion, but no free leagues unless I'm blind.

ESPN totaly rocks. Mlee is just bitter about the Chargers.

Why I like ESPN: VERY easy to read and understand. User freindly. My son plays in our family league. He's 16 now and back when he was 10, he could totaly understand and find everything. Even I had a hard time with Yahoo last year. Maybe becasue I'm accustomed to ESPN but they did have a year where their 'Smack Talk' was down, but you can see all the smack talk right on the screen and their fantasy cast is awesome.

Why I don't like Yahoo: Hard to find stuff. text and smack is much smaller in comparison, and the bench is not even seperated. Hard to keep track of the whole league on one screen AS the scoring happens. Slow response time between screens.

It's like Yahoo is Peachtree accounting software, and ESPN is Quickbooks.

ESPNs interface is just so much more simple and yet has the same or more info.

Just my opinion, but Mlee, I am curious why you don't like ESPN?

Personally, I think ESPN has a better drafting application, and I use them for fantasy cast, but in terms of setting up your team, yahoo wins no contest.

You can view your roster's opponents, make lineup changes weeks in advance. You can view stats by week/to date without having to click on their names. It's already there, whereas ESPN has the previous week and total.

ESPN also doesn't keep your history of leagues you've been in and what you ranked in those. I have no record of the three leagues I participated in last year and that kinda bugs me.

ESPN does keep the history of your previous leagues. I was just viewing the final stats from one of my money leagues from last season. The history can be found when you're on the homepage of your league. It's between transaction counter and email league. You can also view your opponents roster by clicking on preview.

I was talking about your roster players. What team they face say in week 6.

And the history you speak of is that of that league in particular. My profile doesn't have "played in this league, got 3rd of 16" with a link to the season results.

I gotcha. It will show you who your players are playing up to 4 to 5 weeks out I believe. When you're in "my team" click on schedule.

The history I was referring to will show you the history of the particular league you're logged into at that certain time. Final records, scoring and standing.

Mindz, check this out. Click around to the previous years. It's all there. Rosters, apponents, scores, stats, everything.

I have 3+ leagues I played in last year on espn. I can't find any of them. My profile doesn't have any record of me playing in any fantasy leagues. Says 0 games played.

I think it has to be a continuation in the system. If a whole new league is started then it gets erased?

But we've been playing ESPN as a family league, even back when it wasnt' free. I think it started out at like 85.00 or something.

Only league I have available to click into to get to that screen is the new league I created in case ESPN wins the site hosting. It says "this league is in the inaugural season...no stats are in the database" type message.

ESPN doesn't have something like this...

ESPN is all about advertisements and selling "insider" or "360". Right now it's all good, but as soon as the season starts you run into nothing but roadblocks once it starts. And don't you have to pay to see your live stats? At least on Yahoo you could see the high level scoring.

Just checked my Profile there and I've been a member since 1998 and I know it was more like 1993. I still have a 4 digit password too.

We had a looonnnggg time league that finally had to call it quits 2 yrs ago due to the Live Draft getting totally jacked every year and having to do re-drafts etc. due to server problems or something else with ESPN.

I understand if you're playing other leagues in ESPN it's better to have them all on one site. I have 3 on CBS each year and a couple on Yahoo.

Also, we have the untimate SMAK talk location here in the Thread...Talk SMAK where 20,000 other people can see... LOL

As for the Chargers... we'll do well on any site... not so sure about the Bills..

I'm really good with any site we choose as long as it's Yahoo... This was a fun league last year.

Edit: when I went to look up my history... Nada, Nothing... typical ESPN... I used to have a big ole trophy and points. I see you've been discussing the continuation thing... another reason to keep it in the same place. If it's ESPN lets stay with it... much easier to restart the league and keep history.

I guess it's kinda like cars or cell phone companies. Some have nothing but problems, and some never have any. I'v ealways been able to find everything and haven't had to pay for live scoring in over 5 years.

BUT, we've never done an on-line draft. We always spend the day drinking and talking football and use a seperate site for an on-line draft where each of us can put our own picks in by selecting them from a list with our own preset time limit that we can speed up as the draft goes. We built it ourselves. Works great, then we put the entries in team by team into ESPN manualy. Of course our drafts go about 6 or 7 hours.

But it's awesome. We have a few teams in California, some in WA. state, some in Texas, some in Louisiana, and Me and my son in Alabama. Usually the louisiana, alabama, texas ones get together. Drink beer and have fun.

I'm not apposed to Yahoo. I'm just more familiar with ESPN.

Under your fantasy tab, you have all the leagues you've participated in?
Maybe since Yahoo does it automatically and you can just click on your profile to find it (simple and easy) which makes it more obvious?

That's right, I am the commish. I like making the league "for the people of the people and by the people". You remember I was like this last year too.

There you go... think we can plan C5 fest III around our draft next year?

Speaking of C5Fest... Did GTA ever make it in here to vote?
