Well, I went to there dealership in Manasas when I was shopping for an accord back in 2000. I ended up buying it at a dealership on the beltway in Maryland. I can't even remember the name of that dealership, but they beat the hell out of Koon's! The salesman at Koon's was a complete an utter ass. If there is a bad salesman trick in existence, they tried to pull it. I finally told the guy that I wouldn't buy a car from him under any circumstance at any price and left. I then came back with my new car and asked the SOB how he liked it!

Good luck and I wouldn't go there unless things have changed in the last 10 years.

I wouldn't buy a car in VA b/c of the exorbitant processing fees.

Having said that, there are few bad dealers, but no shortage of bad sales people. I can't blame Koons, they have to work w/ what's out there, and since they are also a volume dealer, they need a lot of slaes people. 10% of which are properly qualified to sell the products. The odds that you drive up to a dealer and land a good sales professional are very, very low.

They (sales people) aren't bad b/c they're evil and out to defraud you, rather that there is very little money in Chevys these days, so the really good, professional sales pros go to Lexus, MBUSA, etc. Leaving many organizations to hire just about anybody who can communicate. They have to learn on the job, and very few will admit they don't know something about a car, so they make it up.

Of course, that's horrible, but faced w/ that or having the family go hungry, most folks will say just about anything to sell a car.

Why?

Simple, like I said, there is hardly ANY profit on a new car these days, what w/ all the info available on the internet, even if you manage to sell one car at the sticker price every month, you still most likely will have made a minimum deal, which @ most dealers is anywhere from $100 to $200. That's why dealers have VOLUME bonuses, and bonuses for a good CSI.

A good sales person has a ten car average. So even if you sell ten cars @ $200 that's about $2,000.

At any rate, kinda ran off the rails here, but the point is unless a dealer has a reputation of institutionally marking up cars, and racking up ridiculous service fees, the notion that a dealer is automatically bad b/c you had a bad experience w/ a sales person is off base.

I haven't heard anything good or bad about Koons automotive, but I bet if you polled 10% of their customers 60% of those folks would say that had a bad experience, 10% would say it was great, the rest would claim indifference.... but that's the way it is w/ most all dealers.

Frank,

I'm interested in a Synergy Camaro in PA. Does PA have exorbitant processing fees as well?

Koons in Tysons has about 30 Camaros on the lot, 10 are 2010's and and 20 are 2011's. The seem to still believe in the market adjustment price. $3500 additional on many stickers.

I just want a lt/ rt for as the best possible price, they had a 2011 down there for like 27785. And it had everything I wanted. So if they can't work or they wanna play games, I won't buy one from them. I'm getting tires of looking already and I don't want a 3rd or 4th generation. If i have to. I'll just stay with the car I have now and say the hell with it. And I refuse a ls model

Frank from the posts above is at Ourisman Rockmont in Rockville. I know he had a Synergy Green one.

http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/m...847724314.html at $28445

As for the one at koons for $27,785 is it a black manual trans 1lt? If so it does not have the market adjusted on it. They should be ok to deal with on that one. The RS, the SS seem to be the ones with the markup.

I have a Cyber Gray with Silver Rally Stripes SS LS3/M6 with 7700 miles that I will let go for under $30,000. I'm going to keep my Silver L99/A6.

I went to Koons in Tysons, VA. Very unprofessional and lazy salesman trying to sell me a 2010 2LT $5,000 OVER STICKER. Please, I'm not an idiot. I work in Tysons and Koons easily has 20 Camaros. Looks like they havent sold a single one since I was in there a month and a half ago. Thats what happens with an ADM (Arrogant Dealer Mark-up). Their slogan is "Our Prices Will WOW You". Got that right. $5,000 over sticker, yea that WOWd me all right. Enough to leave and not waste my time. Don't buy from Koons, they will take you to the cleaners hoping you are another uneducated car buyer.

Ended up buying from another dealer. Ordered a 2011 for below INVOICE.

I tried criswell and they was telling me that gm is making them put performance exhaust on all the v6 models, and I didn't ask if I bought a car there if they still had to put the performance exhaust on which I don't want. I plan on getting the car and leaving it alone

Koons wanted like 31000 dollars for a ls with all the markups and shit, then they tried to get me to bring my car down there and take a camaro home for 5 days, and if they couldn't sell my focus I had to bring the camaro back. Now what do u think I would feel like having to take a camaro back and get in a lame ass focus
