I have too agree with you on this. However I dont think the GT500's were built to be a road carver as apposed to being a Muscle Car. And anyone who can launch them properly would leave the Camaro sucking exhaust.

Ford is getting a little worried...

Ford is offering 0% financing plus $2000 cash back, i just saw it during half time of the Falcons and Forty Niners game in between flipping back and forth from the Le Mans race from Laguna Seca. I guess the camaro's sales lead for the past 4 months has not gone unnoticed.

I don't chime in much but horsepower TV had a 98 SS with high miles & no tune up they just bought the car & rolled it on the dyno & it laid 300whp with old plugs & wires & whatever else, another show all together rolled in a cobra 03 or 04 that put down 368whp. so i know the 02 SS were putting 325 to 335 whp down. so ford put a s/c on there cars & only could muster around 40 more HP than a N/A LS1 ! plus those motors were had built as to the production built LS1 so why U ford people are so proud of that car really doesn't make alot of since to me ! they are nice cars my friend has one but it's not like they could kill the LS1. hell i put a few bolt ons & ran a Terminator with some mods & put 3/4 to a car length on him. all in all s/c the stock LS1 & they are gonna win even if they aran't set up for S/C. & they had no answer because they stopped making the camaro ! GM was going green but that obviously wasn't a good idea. I am a GM guy but rather drive a ford than any Jap or Foreign made car IMO ! but the TERM didn't impress me as much as it should of ! IMO. not hateing JSMO !

The 2010 mustang is a flop. They have too many things that people dont like about it plus with much improved engine choice's for 2011 and the camaro to compete with it brutal right now for them. My local dealer with employee pricing did not move one 2010 mustang all summer long. He is now stuck with them all winter now. I bet he dumps them at invoice in the spring just to make room for the 2011's.

It is very obvious to everyone that the car could have been tuned for more power from the factory. That's all Ford decided to do and somehow it will still kill any factory Camaro today.

The question is not why Ford only gave it that amount of power, the question is why there STILL is not a factory Camaro that can run with it.

Ahh a no it all ! as with the stang the LS1 was also detuned both motors respond to mods very well but if you put a S/C on a LS motor you get the LS9. MY Question is why would you spend so much on a bmw when a cadillac could run it into the ground for half the money !!!

You'll probably resort to name calling in a few posts, but I'll still answer your 2 part question.


First: We are not talking about whether the LS1 was detuned. Stock for stock it will lose. Don't rephrase your answer with a whole new set of circumstances.


Second: I bought the BMW because I wanted a vert and to me it looked better than the XLR and a few other choices I had considered. Who cares if it was half the money. My money so my purchase. Personally the arguement of price has no relevance unless you are on a budget. Fortunately I am not.

They have been airing mustang commercials for two or three weeks now. Mustang sales are slow while dealers can't keep Camaros on the lot

You do not get an LS9 from just slapping a S/C on any LS motor. LS9 has titanium connecting rods, forged aluminum pistons, a forged steel crank, etc. etc. Very, very nice. No other LS motor save maybe the LS7??(not even sure about that) has that nice of hardware inside.

Ahh i guess i have to explain it to you that's what you get when you hand build a LS motor for a S/C like ford did with the terminator motor ! the LS1 was a production built N/A motor! i'm not trying to have a gay ass form war i'm just stating the facts. !!!!

Muscle is the primary ingredient, but I would not discount it's handling capability just because of where it has or hasn't run.....

First of all why would you go there with the name calling, i never post for this exact reason. cause people like you ! I think you don't really take all the factors in when comparing the two. Both are great AMERICAN PERFORMANCE CARS. BUT the Terminator has a 1 year advantanch & a S/C & really didn't produce that much more HP ! I'm glad your not financially challenged & i guess i'm just a little more patriotic then you. whatever the teriminorator wasn't that big of a deal !
