CGM owners always seem to be the most innovative! I agree! Common courtesy would dictate that after tranquilizing you'd inform the parents to load their offspring back into their Kia (or other low end vehicle) and return to whence they came.

I'm younger than 31 and I even have to yell at children and people twice my age to back away or not touch my vehicles!

Although yes as many people are stating it all boils down to how children are raised and Americans respect for other peoples property. An interesting comparison for those of you that have ever toured a German auto museum, almost every car, even those that are priceless or worth well beyond a million euros are 100% out in the open, no ropes, no barriers or clear arcylic walls, not even any signs that say don't touch, and despite this lack of "protection" no children or adults ever touch a single car. I still find it surprising that 60+ year old cars, with original paint, and even those that are black are out in the open un-scratched and un-finger printed!

Yet when you visit most North American car museums, such as the Corvette museum each car has barriers around it and is only visable from one side (which also makes taking good photos impossible!) and there's still finger prints on the cars somehow!

SO CHEERS TO YOU SYNERGY GREEN CAMARO OWNER; FOR TEACHING THE YOUTH ONE AT A TIME THAT CAMAROS ARE OFF LIMITS!

Absolutely, I was at a show the other weeks when a bunch of kids put thier fingers all over my car. Mom was standing right there and didn't say a word.

Just had to vent a little I guess. Been having problems with the neighbors for the past few months, and just stupid people in general that has nothing to do about the camaro.

Yelling at them may not have been polite, maybe they're just curious admirers, thinking it was for sale?

They were old enought to know better, wasnt like I screamed at them, just enough to get the point across. looking and touching a little is fine, but when someone starts pulling on the door handle and opening up the gas door....um yeah I had to say something.

don't feel bad, I'm pretty sure the kids around me thing I'm an asshole...LOL. Parents don't teach their kids to respect other peoples property anymore, at least not where I live. My 7 year old son knows not to mess with other peoples stuff, I use to go to allot of car shows and cruise ins and have always taught my kids not to touch or lean against any of the cars.

Thanks I feel so much better about myself just kidding but yeah I have to tell people not to touch my mom or dads car. I love how I have to be more stern with adults because of my age I have had adults threaten to fight me I turn my check and say you get the first punch and they walk away also as a credit for adults I do look like I can be short 16 year old. Few people my age respect cars that aren't porshe lambos or ferraris. Please don't generalize all kids because I never touch cars or stuff except once when I tripped and put a hand print on a car but the owner saw me fall I said sorry and he said its okay.

Ok, I'm adding...I put my Honda Accord on the busy road down from my house with a for sale sign. I went to pick it up and some kids threw a beer bottle and Frapachino bottle against it at. They were trying for the driver-side window and hit the door. Two big dents so now I am paying to fix it so I can sell it and my insurance will go up for a car I eventually won't own.

Plenty of adults that can't resist getting all touchy feely with your shit too.

Funny I was never really even taught directly not to touch things, just a learned habit I guess.

Even when I work on the customer's bikes at work, I only finger up the areas I have to work on. Other employees are always leaning on them or fingering up the paint for no reason.

BTW, we are supposed to clean them before they leave anyway, but to me it means more work. Also, if someone drops off a brand-new black bike, Id rather not even have to wipe down the paint.

Kids are what you make them. I was 16 when I had my first son and then 17 for my second. I was a tyrant of a parent. I tried to make them behave perfectly to negate the stares I was getting for being so young. They were taught manners, respect, obedience and to be self sufficient. Now at almost 14 and 12 they are the best kids a man could ask for and they respect other peoples property. I've been more lenient with my daughter (shes my baby and she is the baby) but now at almost 9 I can see the difference between her and her brothers. She's a hannah montana pretty princess who thinks everything she wants she gets. She's not a bad kid just needs an attitude adjustment. Noone to blame but myself.

I applaud you for putting these kids "in the know". All this "spare the rod, spoil the child" nonsense is garbage. I'm not saying beat your kids but for the love of god discipline them!

I have 8 children all still at home. And very rarely do I ever find any hands or anything on any of my 6 vehicles. But it came with practice. It also helped to have cars the kids actually thought were cool....who cares about the Corolla (not me...the teenagers drive it and it has already been keyed at the school lot but with 140K miles on it I really don't care)....but at home they have learned respect. Plus we take them to car shows and they practice the art of not touching anything.

Practice practice practice.....but parents have to give a darn about teaching it...and frankly many don't care.

.....but let me also say that some of the fun is getting kids excited about the car....finger prints wipe off.....take the time to show the car and then throw in a, "next time maybe you should ask first and also a lot of people who own nice cars don't want people to touch them"....just another teachable moment.

They just don't give a **** and it's damn infuriating. I like my truck alot and try to keep it nice and clean and i'm usually paranoid about it. But to my advantage I guess a truck like mine doesn't really stand out so I guess i'm lucky. I'm going to be a wreck worrying bout the Camaro once I own one.
