Underglow

Yes, yes, I know. Not very popular among the 4th gen scene, but I personally think green underglow under my black Z28 would look quite badass. But, maybe it's just me. Anyway, I want to get some input from you guys, what do you guys think about it? And if I were to do it, what brand should I buy? I want high quality stuff.

Might want to post on some import forums?
Just lie and say you have a civic that needs some lighting, they'll know suppliers for sure.

welcome to the site, & when we get our cars (if i'm still in the 'boro) we should cruise together sometime. as for the underglow: sorry if it hurts, but my sig says it all.

ps - sorry to bust your bubble, but as of now there's no z28

EDIT: sorry... your current z28. gotcha. my answer's still the same

as far as the the neons go, i think by now the look is cliche and that is why i wouldnt do it. They guys that started the whole neon thing have moved on. its more about performance orientated looks.

This will only work if you do it tastefully. Get a piece of equipment to sync your underglow with your music. Make sure the tubes aren't visible. Also, don't have them on all the time. Only put underglow on a car that can crush the competition.

Wow, I seem to be getting a bunch of one sided opinions. At least try to be a bit open minded people. I realize that it's a ricey thing to do, but then again anything can be seen as ricey. Adding ground effects can be seen, by some, to be a rice thing to do. I personally think green under black would look badass. It's not illegal in Tennesse. The only way you can get in trouble is if it's red or blue and flashing, then it's seen as impersonating an officer. To the guy in the Boro, what's up dude, yeah, when racing season starts back up at the Motorplex in Nashville you should come and race with me. Yes my car crushes just about anything in my area, not to sound conceited, except for bikes. And if it doesn't now it definitely will when I add a FIPK to it in a month or two.

It's really up to you when it comes to mods. Do you like it? If so, get it. I just advise you to do it respectably. I say the same thing about paint, body kits, or vinyls. I'm sure you want the best quality and to earn some respect for being both fast and stylish. I think a subtle green underglow kit could look amazing on a black Z28. Just do it right by keeping the tubes concealed.

Of course it'll be a dark green and really light, not like bright as hell. It'll look really nice I think, of course I'll keep the tubes concealed lol. I just need to find a high quality dealer for underglow and I'll be in business, anyone care to help haha? Do you want to see a picture of my Z28 to make a more educated decision? Just tell me how I can post a photo and you'll have it.

Isn't this like putting a continental kit and a landau roof on a new CTS?

Seriously, dude, please, it's hard to be a Camaro owner as it is.

my full-size against an f-body it' would be fun to head to the track though. too bad it's only 1/8 mi.

also about the lights. i wasn't trying to say it would look bad (especially if installed right), it's just stereotypically associated with ricer kids who've got money. actually i've got red rope lights that i afro-engineered to look like underglow on my truck last christmas. they didn't stay on too long. if you really want a kit, go with the led ones. not only can you change the colors, but they're sturdier & cheaper. or at least they were the last time i looked for some.

Yeah, I'm pretty set on doing it I just need to find a high quality provider. I don't want cheap ass lights, I want the best I can get. How do you post an image? I see the post image button, but it doesn't do anything for me... Well, until I find out how, I guess I can link you guys to the picture I have on MySpace as much as I'd rather not. http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/inde...ageID=29518576

I think as long as you don't go crazy with neons everywhere it can look pretty cool. It is definitely eye catching, and since neons have sort of died off, its kind of becoming unique again. I've seen red neons in TA WS6 hood scoops and they look great. I'll probably get bashed too, but I have a set of blue street glows under my 69ss. I hid them behind the bottom edge of the rocker panel. I rigged it up so I didn't have to drill holes into the car too. For people that don't like them, if they aren't turned on you would never know they wrer there, but when I'm at a nightly cruise in I can turnem on and stand out from the crowd a little. Basically it comes down to what you want to do, its your car, do what you like, don't worry about what everyone else thinks.

He can do whatever he wants, It's his car, If you aren't going to submit something constructive to his question then please don't post at all. It's just an underglow he's lookin for, it's not like he's slappin a massive wing on it, and stickers he claims add horsepower. He is asking for quality stuff, i believe that he will do a quality job, so lighten up on the guy. I am perfectly fine with a lighting job as long as it is tasteful, and not half assed. Do the job right and you will be praised, do a half assed job and even i will bitch about it.

what's so hard about being a camaro owner? I can't imagine anything hard about owning one of the best cars EVER built (second only to a Corvette).

have you ever owned one?

you should drive an LT1 for a few hundred thousand miles....lol

to the OP, if you can do them tastefully, then do them. ive seen them done well and not well on 4th gens before, and it all comes down to how well you can pull it off.

Well despite the criticism that I've been getting I went ahead and bought green Streetglow neon underglow. It was a lot cheaper than the multi-color LED lights that they had, so I decided to go ahead and get them while I had the money. I'm installing them tonight so I'll definitely post a few pics of what the finished product looks like. Thanks to everyone who backed me on this.

underglow

personally i dont really like the underglow on muscle cars.....HOWEVER, i am all about NOT looking like EVERYONE ELSE.... if you do it, do it tastefully! dark green will go well with black..... or you could always get a colored "coil"....basically rev your rpms and press the button and colored flame shoots from your pipes....all of the above is tuner stuff to do but not everyone does it with muscle cars..
