The thing I cant wait for the most is the alpha platform swap, the car will lose a good chunk of weight plus 2012 interior redo with premium materials, then no1 will be able to say anything negative about it at all.

This guy is my new favorite car-show host.

Just his commentary made me smile...then, of course -- the Camaro.

Dear Camaro5 Webmaster,

I would like to apologize for the excessive bandwidth I've been using. I cannot seem to stop watching that clip.

LOL....yeah right.

It doesn't matter how good a car is. Certain people will hate it.

For example....In the ls1 vs 2V days I still heard just as much trash talking from mustang guys.

It wont ever end....thats a fact.

Plenty of people will still hate the 2012 interior. Plenty of people will still call it cheap.

great review.. and everything he said is correct.. there really are very few things that fault the new camaro's. but .. he could also just be being nice because top gear is such a well known show they might be trying to get a bigger audience with this! just sayin.. but either way .. this put a big smile on my face seeing that thing whip around the corners like that ...
any time any european review can whip it around a corner like that and smile and have compliments, u know we did something right.

Great review! You know someone who loves to drive... just has to give the Camaro its props!

(and now I have a new favorite brit-show)

P.S. Those of you thinking of getting [YANKTANK] as your license plate... think long and hard about that decision.

Love it. Watching this video & the web based one both triggered my permagrin (so much it hurts). That chick driver in the web clip had a HUGE permagrin & loud giggle plus a squeel. Guess us V6 folks have support for our permagrins too with her clip. Very fun thread.

the haters will never stop.

That review was more like it, although i still hear some Euro-superiority complex creeping in. sigh. yes Euro's, you're really leading the world over there.

Listening to him pronounce Camaro, i think i figured out where Bob Lutz is from.

That was a fun review, but I don't understand all you guys saying that guy can drive. Anybody can throttle steer a muscle car around like that. It's not hard. But it's hard on the car. Someone needs to tell him it's a Camaro, not a Mini.

I have seen other video reviews of the Camaro where they managed to lap a track without creating a landscape of tire smoke. The great challenge of driving a car like the new Camaro is making her go fast while still keeping her wide azz in line. Now THAT's fun.

I think that was the point he was trying to make with the car in the review - to slide it around corners, to burn rubber, to make smoke and noise. That's what he's saying is fun about the car. Plus, it makes for much more fun visuals and audios for the viewer.

He's a professional racer, so I'm sure he could have lapped the track much faster and with much more efficiency if he wanted. But again, that wasn't the point.

Fifth Gear was created after the original Top Gear was cancelled - the format was literally purchased and put on a different channel with a slightly different name - to that end, it's always been a show that has tried to tell you something factual and very "review-like" - just as the original Top Gear once was. Tiff and Clarkson are very close friends.

Now, TG is an entertainment show - nothing more. Again, Clarkson has said on numerous occasions that he says what he does for effect and rarely believes it himself. Remember the word "entertainment".

So with that in mind, the Fifth Gear review was always going to be one that made sense and reflected the car - whereas as Top Gear would always be "POWWAAAA".. and little else.
