2 Evo's and ME

JS...This one is for you!

Again i'm coming home from my Sisters house. we live off a major east west artery, about 9 miles apart.

Its 50( the speed limit) out west going to 40 then back to 50 as we pass through 3 citiy edge boundaries.

My SS was being stalked by 2 fart canned Evo's Both of them Evo 9's
I know there pontetial, But these kids looked as though Stereo eqipment was there major mod, plus an annoying buzz saw exhaust. i've heard tuned Evo's they didn't sound like that..though they were quick still.

Anyhow they both started cutting in front of me then speeding up.
I remained calm. i waved them off..

I thought they were through after about 5 minutes of this BS.
i started to think i should call the police.
So i'm doing the 40 as required, finally ,they drop back and then both blast past me through a construction Zone. They were seriously reckless going about 80-90 maybe more wot and standing on it.

Johnny LAW was finally at the right place at the right time.
Flipped a u- turn right in front of me and Blasted after them. (code 3)

i must say, it was more than satisfying to see them both out of there cars and being scrutinized and tickected. I caught a light. So when i got to them there were 2 patrol cars pulling up with the first unit ( a 2 man team)yelling at them.

i obediently drove by, shaking my head. My wife said i should say something. I did not. by the looks of it.....their weekend plans, if any, were CANCELLED.

Should i have said anything.? I never had to slam on my brakes or anything, though they were goating me hard. And although my wife said it was my call.
And there was a second i thought" i'll blast through second and third....and show them. " I held fast to my mantra of " If i do run on the street, it better be in BFE + no traffic and no intersections / crossroads."

They could goat me till the cows come home. I'm going home, making love to my wife. and have no worries!!

This wasn't a rural road.
there was traffic and they did have to swerve left and right to negotiate said traffic, when they were blocked by all 3 lanes off traffic they road up on the shoulder, rather than slowing down.......The cops in pursuit saw this, so i knew they were done!!!
Hooked and cooked. waiting to be deboned.

Totally unacceptable. Reckless, Foolish, Dangerous. had any pedestrians been on the side...man i was mad as hell. Sure was happy watching that
interceptor get them.

John Sheilds i thought about alot of the post you wrote.
Not worth it. Guess i never see them at the track in the cities NEW Evo's.

They live their life a quarter mile at a time,, for that 10 seconds or less (more like 14 seconds or less)--- nothing else matters.

Great post...

It is a damn good feeling, and its an even better one catching them. Florida law is finally cracking down on this garbage. If they get anything less than a year 2 year revoke and 2000-3000 dollars in fines I would be shocked.

Although there is always the thought in the back of our minds what it would be like to toast them, but you made the right choice and the safe one. No fines and like you said you get to rail your wife tonight....

Doing the right thing........

Great description of a fairly common scenario these day's. Had the same sorts of situations while in ownership of the C5 vette, and now the SS. The kids just don't get it..................beyond the inherent dangers you've mentioned they should consider first. There's no rhyme or reason to risk it all while proving nothing. It seems to elude these automanniac's that automobiles like ours, straight out of the box are generally as capable of high end performance, if not more so...........and we don't need coffee can's hanging out the rears of our machines to know so...............

Its pleasing to know that your reactions were appropriate as destiny played out its hand........."They could goat me till the cows come home. I'm going home, making love to my wife. and have no worries!!
"
The benefits of doing the right thing, appears to have lead to a mutually
satifying experience afterwards.................proof that gratification need not be self indulgent or at the expence of innocent bystanders, nor the pocketbook..........................Kudo's

Haha... thanks! Yeah it's not worth it and I'd bet that those two wont be doing that ever again. If your city/state does it, they very well could get their cars seized for life (as what you described to me sounds like racing... the way those two bolted off together).

It's definitely satisfying knowing that these people were driving like idiots, and got caught for it. I hate when people do that and put my family at risk (I have had a few people drive reckless around me like that, and even worse road rage on me, which although different still puts them at risk). It's not something you want to subject them to.

Here in Phoenix, those idiots don't have a clue about real performance. They think if the put a coffee can on the exhaust, they are racers. Then they go around killing other people because they can't drive either.
