I understand, I put my order in about week ago and found out that the color I want is on hold. So now I have my salesperson searching for the exact car I want on another dealers lot and trying to get something shipped to them. Hopefully Japan will get their plant up and running so I can get that Imperial Blue Metallic.

At least Allied trucking isn't going to abduct your car.

I ordered victory red. As I understand it, that color is good to go, right?

The wait is a long one mate im waiting as well however youre status should've changed to at least 3300 looking at your order date.

Try the tracking and ordering thread to get an accurate update

It sounds to me like your dealer doesn't have any allocation. You might want to ask that question.

Saw my dealer twice. He told me they get allocations every week... To which I asked, so when will my car go through? He said he has no idea and it's in GM's hands. Really annoyed in having to wait so long to see zero progress. I feel like I could go in today somewhere else and get it pushed through already.

You've been waiting a month. I'd tell them if you don't see status 2000 by the end of the week, then you want your money back. Then I would go to another dealer and have them order it.

Thats nonsense if they get allocations every week how come they haven't used one to place an order for your car. Like i said earlier use the tracking and ordering thread to get an accurate status on your order if it still remains at 1100/1102 then id get my money back and switch dealers if i were you.

My first dealer did the same thing, gave me the run around. You don't need a dealer to do a search and see if there is another car like you ordered in your area. If they are jerking your chain over ordering a car do you think for one second they are going to tell you there is one like you want 50 miles away and risk a sale? Go to the Chevy website and build your car, then do a ever widening search until you find what you want.

My local dealer had me waiting for over a month before I went looking around. A dealer an hour away had the exact same car coming to them. I told my local dealer about what I had found and he told me "he would check about getting it". I never heard another word back from the local dealer about it. The other dealer was totally different, it was still in transit when I called them the first time and told them I was very interested. They called me every move that car made getting to Goldsboro, NC. I bet you would never guess which dealer got my money? I called the local dealer as I was driving home to cancle my order. I guess they decided to go ahead and continue with their order and it was about 4 months later when that car and about 5 others showed up. I drive by there everyday and it's still sitting there.

NYY87, if you haven't found them already, there are some really helpul dealers here on Camaro5!

One you may want to ask for more info is BeckyD - she was very helpful in educating me about allocation, and (my words) how not to let my local dealer mess with me. When he wouldn't/couldn't answer my questions about allocation (didn't even want to discuss it), I immediately switched to Becky and ordered my car through her.

Beckyd@rodgerschevrolet.com

She is amazing and goes out of her way to keep me updated at every step. Becky Rocks!!!

The only reason I've been hesitant to switch dealers/ look elsewhere... is because the salesman I'm buying this off of has been my family's salesman for 25 years. He was good friends with my grandfather and my family has bought work trucks, large vans, and cars off of him for quite some time. Maybe I would have been better off going somewhere else, but felt I could get a better deal with somebody who knew me.

I'm a little confused about this allocation process... in particular, who's court the ball is in right now. Is it up to my salesman to push it through, or the sales manager, or is it in GM's hands like he said?

His excuse for not having it go through yet was some bs about supply and demand. That they're not making them as much right now (which I know is incorrect because I come on here and see everybody's orders get filled).

Find out where you stand in line of their current orders. Allocation means that each dealership is able to submit (IE 4) orders of Camaros to the factory. However if you're # 21 in line waiting... you'll have a few months wait.

Ever watch the king of the hill episode where the dealer salesman makes hank believe the sticker price is the deal of a lifetime for 25 years???
All jokes aside long story short allocation as far as i know is the maximum amount of a particular vehicle or model a dealer can order with GM per month.
Like OrangeVert stated above contact becky@rodgers or through the forum and get an accurate insight on things. Take a look at our sigs we ordered almost the same time as you have and were going into production next week. If you want to be loyal to your dealer thats another story but the least you can ask of him is for him to tell you the truth.

Update: Dealer told me that GM still wasn't picking up my order. This left me with two options:

1) risk waiting a little longer to see if the order gets pushed through. If this didn't happen, I would be stuck waiting until August for a 2012 (really didn't want to wait the entire summer)

2) Find a different Camaro somewhere.

Originally, I ordered a 1LT RS in victory red. Welll... at a dealer about 45 minutes away, I found the same car, with all of the options I wanted... but in Synergy Green with black stripes! Needless to say... I'll be picking it up tomorrow!!

CAN NOT WAIT!
