R6P is the code for Early Order status. Supposed to have locked us in price-wise. Read up on it. Some prices went up-not alot, but still up depending on what you got. The window sticker will have the new prices on them, but the dealer is supposed to charge you the older, lower price.

thank you. i'm not alone.i thought i was being jacked up.i got word from my son who got word from his girlfriend who got word from her uncle who happened to be in the dealership where i ordered my car.my name came up bla bla bla.so whoever he was talking to checks my status an says i'm at 3300 or 3400 i forget beins i was asleep last night when my son called to give me the news.and that i'm scheduled for production on saturday which was yesterday.now i can't find out nothing till tomorrow beins how my dealership is closed today.anyway i didn't know cars were being built on the weekends yet. YIPPIE KI Aaaaaaaaaaa I Wanna Do 1 of them annoying milk carton dances.

do you have your 6 character order number? If so, "Look up XXXXXX in workbench please and tell me what my current event code is." Wait a week or two and repeat.

I am at 3400 as of yesterday. Any day now and it's produced. I read the whole thread but because of early delays shipping have no real handle on how long it's been taking to get your car after it has been produced. Any recent news?

oddly enough, my sales rep seems to be side stepping the question about my order status. she implied that she dosen't check them. That "they didn't really mean much". she says that she only checks them once a month. She said that an order which had been 1100 7days prior, rolle up with a VIN the next. so she says it's better to just let the system do it's thing.

I don't think she is a Camaro lover!

Its fun to have it. Its part of the buying experience. When giving birth, thinking and agonizing about it, the doctor doesnt keep you in the dark? You are paying for it. It is no skin off their ass to print it off. Its nice to have in your baby's file.

If your salesman is dodging the question, go there in person and together find the inventory manager. Tell him/her what you want and they will get it for you.

This is how I finally got it after calling and asking a number of times.

What does "Rail Ramp unload" mean? Dealer said car was at 4300, 1-800 said rail ramp unload.
I was getting excited that car could be at dealer soon...but w/ all the QC'd cars wondering if mine was headed for area 51??

I have reached just one conclusion: The dealer is the best source of information, if they are cooperative. You can play detective and if you know an insider at GM that is about the only other way.
