Leasing Deals 2010-11

I was in my local dealership and was told I can get a decked out SS/RS for around 500.00 plus tax (3k). This was with no negotiations. Has anyone leased an SS 2010-2011 and if so what kind of deal did you get?

I was told that the residual is 60% for the 2011 models. Accoding to my calculations (if right).

40k car.

60% residual

Payments are 16k spread out over 39 months. 410.00
3k for taxes which are rolled into payment - I'm at 486 with 0 down.

Does this sound right.

Thanks

You can get gap through your own insurance.

whatever you get the lease for, you can probably buy for about $100/month more (with about a 4% finance rate)

that's what I found out at least......and the reason I bought

Ok first question. Why would you want to lease a Camaro?

Yes but at a longer term. Leasing is a pretty good deal for people that only hold onto a car for two or three years.

I just bought my Camaro 2 weeks ago and was told there are no rebates or leasing on the Camaro because it is a "hot"car.

So you want to pay for a car you'll never own? Might as well get a rental car... at least that way you're not restricted by mileage (so long as you get a deal that gives you freedom). Leasing a car means that you have all sorts of restrictions and I'm not ok with that. I pay just a tad more than your calculations and get to keep the car.

If you are offered a lease you BETER ask for the end of lease terms and conditions..... Those can get very costly.

That seems off to me. I was looking at $640 a month to lease a 2ss/rs for 39 months.

He did not list the $ down...... Usually the fine print of a lease states $XXXX down+TTL.

No, it sounds off...maybe there's a massive down payment involved. They quoted me some higher rates for a 1LT/RS on a 2010 a couple months ago. Easier just to buy.

I guarantee you don't beat them up... since they are required to be in a specific condition on return.

And turning in a lease vehicle at a specific Mileage causes a big payment for early turn in.

Sorry more specically I meant run them hard. Definetly can not destroy the appearance of the car. Generally the leasing company provides a credit card size "damage allowance" piece of thin cardboard. You can use this piece to cover any cosemtic damage and not pay any fees to fix. I knew a person whos car was keyed down one side almost completely.
He simply cut his card into "slivers" and taped them end-to-end proving that the scratch was covered by the card he was not charged for the fix.

My last car was a 36K lease. I turned it in with just less than 35K on it (it was 2006 SRT8). has no cosmetic issues to cover at all. Had swirl marks all over it (machine washed most weeks) and losts of paint chips in the front (chicago winters). Dropped it off and walked away. no extra fees at all. PS tires were almost end of life - but they told me (interesting no) that was normal wear for this car at that mileage.

Hi,

Leasing works for me. I like a new car every 3 years, being covered under warranty, never paying for repairs and giving the car back at the end of the lease and not having to bother about selling the car.

I always get 15k miles a year and don't ever worry about not driving the car. The fees at the end of the lease usually include a 300.00- I think they call it deposition fee. I always get the car detailed for 100.00 and have never been charged for excessive wear/tear or dings.

Salesman will tell you anything but they had a big sign on a tricked out 2ss for 498. I was told that the only other charges are tax/title and plates.

With a little negotiations I think I can get the car for 0 down and 500 a month. I'm pretty relentless when I deal with salesman and have several dealers bidding against each other.

GM no longer leases but some dealers do lease through one of their banks or some other company.

bro, i pay 20 dollars more then that $486 number you're at and i have a 1ss that i can do anything i want to. i don't think a car like this should be leased for approximately 20 dollars more a month you can own one.

jesus man, how hard is it for you guys to comprehend that not everyone wants to keep a car like this for ever? in 15 years, some of us dont want a car that's been out of warranty for a decade...

not to mention, there are serious benifits to leasing a car if your talking about a company car and tax deductions...

when i had my 2SS i was paying 705 a month to finance it; i would have taken a lease if they were offering them back then. hell, i'd be leasing the gt500 if anyone in their right mind would offer it.
