So I got the new Motor Trend magazine today (September 2010 Vol. 62, No.9)
and there is a really good section on the custom Hurst Camaro. At the bottom corner of one of the pages it shows a 2012 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28... Thought it was pretty interesting.

I know for the past week or more we have seen new test photos, and even the speculation of the new T3 Bumblebee being the Z/28...

I wonder how legit this insert is, what's your thoughts?

Old sketch art, but it may be close to what the Z28 looks like when it finally comes out.

Not legit at all. It's Motor Trend guessing like the rest of us....except they happen to have a magazine to print it in.

They claim to have seen the clay model or somesuch of the Z28, which may be true. The trouble is that was nearly a year ago, and many design features could have changed by then. Nobody outside of the company knows exactly what powertrain they'll use...and on top of that, price is the absolutely last thing they figure out, so we're at least 6 to 10 months away from that announcement.

im absolutely sure that GM wont release the Z28 if it not will out perform the GT500, that mean the 556 bhp wont do the jop

Yeah I figured it was BS like a lot of stuff out there, it's just crazy how they put stuff in there like they know exactly what's up and that it's a sure thing.

You might be surprised...CTS-V is heavier and is still a challenge.

you might be right however the CTS-V is a Luxury Sedan vehicle we need GM to build a shellby killer to insure the Z28 survivor for generations to come

well take a look at the bumble bees redesign in the movie it takes some styling cues like the chin splitter i think they are going to use the movie to there advantage and it is basically like a huge commercial for the z28, also its going be a brick SH*t house and snack on terminators with some ls9 powa!!!!

It's not going to cost $10K more than a GT500 either.

I believe the Z28 will look alot like a cross between that Z28 pictured which is based off the T2 Bumblebee and the T3 Bumblebee. I do believe the Z28 will have a functional hood scoop or at least functional hood extracts, maybe something similiar to the GT500. Lets not forget the Jay Leno car looks alot like the T3 Bumblebee in design and has the extracts in the front. So maybe something like that.

As for $60k, no way. Chevy already said it planned to have the Z28 priced under the Vette. And they would be foolish to not have a competitive price to the GT500. Too many people would opt out for a GT500 that are on a budget, and those that weren't would maybe just opt for a Vette or CTS-V coupe which is $65k with decent amount of options.

That's my take!

That's a 2010. It has 10 less hp, and weighs 120lbs more than a 2011.

I think the performance difference between the Z/28 and the GT500 will be similar to the SS and GT.

Which is to say, damn close.
