GM Protection Plan,,,worth it ????

I just received the GM Protection Plan offer in the mail.
The terms are 5 years/100,000 miles for $1,760.00 with $100.00 deductible.
Is this a good deal or factory BS ?????
Keep in mind my Camaro is a weekend driver and no track stuff.

Its not a true bumper to bumper warranty like the 3yr/36Kmi. Lots of things are excluded (read the fine print). Then again, it is better than the 5/100 power train warranty you already have, so its more of across between the two.

Personally, I would save the money for when you need it.

I agree; besides you may want to do upgrades, and GM won't honour warranty anyway.

Well, the price is too high for one. Go here if you really want to buy one at the lowest price - http://gmoutlet.com/gmpp.htm

Just keep in mind that you have a first model year car and think about the cost of repairs over the amount of time you intend to keep it. For me, I've already had a new transmission put in under warranty so I'm glad I've got the GMPP Major Guard plan to cover more than the very limited powertrain warranty. I'm keeping this car for quite a while and don't want unexpected expenses popping up while I'm paying it off.

Just bit of info for those that say don't get it...make sure you are aware of what your "powertrain warranty" will and won't cover.
