Question Boost sensor install on E-Force. Where do you hook it up?

Anyone have a picture of the port on the E-Force. I called tech support and everything Ive read says its on the passenger side right below where the lid bolts on. I can clearly locate on on the drivers side but supposedly that one gives false readings as its not the correct location. Anyone have a pic of there they put their sensor on the passenger side? I must be blind!

Can easily see a plug on the drivers side on this car:

but I see nothing on the passenger

Lock, I found this on the Edelbrock website: http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive_...ce_boost.shtml

I would think that tapping into a vacuum line [that does NOT have a check valve on it] as close as possible to the intake manifold would give pretty accurate readings.?

Edelbrock says they have a port specifically for a boost sensor. Just cant seem to find it other than the one on the drivers side.

Not my car . I tweaked the ADM to fit.

Looked over it again Edelbrock must be talking about the existing vacuum line that goes to the override valve. Dont know the exact details but its some kind of bypass for when you are under light throttle. Is this where folks are tappign in? I swear there is no other place on the passenger side! Edelbrock tech said its on the passenger side near the front and below where the lid bolts on. He didnt mention it was an existing port, the instructions mentions on that is plugged with a tap.

2. The second option is to utilize the pressure port at the rear of the passenger side intake runner flange. Your supercharger has been pre-drilled and tapped for a 1/8" NPT fitting. There is currently a plug sealing the hole, which can be removed, and replaced with a fitting to adapt to your sensor.CAUTION: Never cut into the vacuum lines leading to the fuel rail pressure sensor and bypass actuator, on the driver's side of the manifold, for the purpose of tapping in a boost gauge. Interruption of the vacuum signal to the fuel rail pressure sensor can affect the fuel pressure reading to the PCM, which can result in engine failure! Furthermore, this port reads pressure before the intercooler, and therefore is before the inherent intercooler pressure drop. Readings from this port will always be approx. 20% higher then what the engine actually sees.

Here is a pic of the passenger side.

Can anyone confirm this is the port to use? Tapping into the existing line.

I would NOT tap into the boost by-pass valve line.

I've installed over two dozen blowers, absent a port to tap into [many are located on the intercooler-to-blower mounting plate], I've always just found a vacuum line as close to the intake as possible.

I wish I was closer-I'd drive over to take a look...

OK, looking more I understand it's supposed to be a pipe-thread/compression type fitting. If it's sealed with a plug, it should be an alled-head looking one. I wish I could see more...

The only allen plug is on the drivers side and the tech support said not to use that one as it would give false readings. Banging my head on this. Ill probably call again tomorrow and see if I can get them to look at my pictures. Maybe its possible my SC wanst drilled and tapped but that seems unlikely.

RESOLUTION:

I just got off the phone with the same tech guy I talked with yesterday. I sent him a picture of the passenger side of my E-Force and confirmed there is no plug there and it wasnt missed during manufacturing. He went out and looked at their Camaro and it is indeed tapped into the drivers side. I guess on their other E-Force models they use the passenger side. He said he'd get the instructions updated.

That's the one I've used with no issue, you could also T into the bypass hose...

Lock, when you get a chance can you send a pic of the driver's side port you used.

Also, which gauge(s) did you go with?

I circled it in yellow. Initially I'm just putting the sensor a BAP on there. Still haven't decided on a gauge setup yet.
