Fogs vs DRL

I have the rs package and bought the fog light housings. They use a different mounting system and dont fit as tight. The black trim around them doesn't line up like oem. Does anybody that has handled both housings feel the same? Could you get them to fit AS well as the drl did? If so how?

You could have made your DRL's foglights very easily without having to purchase the foglight housing

Gotta love those people who state, "Hey, that's easy to fix" .... aaaand silence. Yeah. Nice. Care to be helpful rather than "hahaha you're a loser" post? I may be paraphrasing, but that's what your coming across as.

Haha that is what I also got out of his post. I needed the fogs so I could use a 5202 bulb as they dont make hids in a p13w.

They may not make HID's but AAC does make a LED bright white P13w bulb that matches the headlight color. They also sell the harness to allow you to run the DRL's as foglights at night. That makes them on all the time but the bulbs are suppose to be 150% cooler than HID's and carry a lifetime warranty.

I've seen youtubes of them and they seem pretty bright. You don't want them TOO bright though. That pisses off all the cars coming at you, at night. There's really no need for actual fogs with the RS package. The headlight HID's are pretty damn bright and illuminate the world in front of you, even in fog. As for quality, I have no idea but they do carry a lifetime warranty. Most of the people in the tread seem to be happy with them.

he was trying not to thread-jack by hawking his own product...if the OP wanted more info then he could very easily have contacted FG directly for it...if FG had posted about his harness then the thread could have turned to a discussion about his product...

also don't see anywhere in the post that called or implied the OP a loser...
honestly, when I read the original post the harness solution was what I thought of first (obviously now I understand why the OP went in a different direction)

That's cool, it's your car. AAC also sells Hella fogs that go in the OEM housings with "some cutting required". They are listed on their site.

BFXenon does HIDs for your DRLs/Fogs. Careful they are very bright, need to aim them correctly. But I do love them !

Be very careful doing this. HID's have a high tendency to melt the lens of non-HID housings, like the housing in the Camaro.

There is a couple threads around here from last year where a few people found this out the hard way and the pics where not pretty. There is a reason why HID's are not offered in these sizes.

Ballasts just controls the voltage to the lights, not the heat emitted.

Current (the movement of electrons) is what causes heat, not watts. It doesn't matter if it was 25 watts or 100 watts, if the current in both is the same, the amount of heat generated is the same.

Ballists controls watts by altering the volts not amps.

Very true, nothing more annoying than that. Those guys usually get a flash from me on the highway, if they don't turn em off I'll light up their world with my KC daylighters.

Not the safest thing, flashing them.. but I don't drive around traffic with my KC's on, and neither should they.

A lot of issues could have been resolved if the fogs were controllable on the RS cars and they ditched the stupid automatic headlights. I mean that's pretty lazy if you can't turn on your own headlights. Wish I could get rid of it.

Bought the AAC Style LED bulbs for the $69 reduced price...lifetime warranty, and runs much cooler than stock..and much cooler than going with super bright HIDs as fogs as well.

They are bright enough to look at, but I won't be blinding anyone going down the road with them. Right now I'm just running a harness from Fieldgoald, but for not much more money a switch from AAC could be installed for turning them off or on. Love em on my ABM!

Idc about the heat as 25 watts will be fine. I want to have a switch that controls them and I want all hids as the highs and lows are hids and I want them to be bright
