You won't be able to make any changes to your transmission, which is where the automatic cars pick up a lot of spunk. If you really want something powerful, get a copy of HP Tuners or EFI Live, or find somebody that has one of those and start playing around.

I was just looking into this myself. You are better off using the SCT (does the tansmission) tuner and getting a custom tune from someone like Jannetty. HP Tuners is a customized tuning program that takes either a lot of experience to learn or some classes on how to do it.

Or it takes somebody else who has the program to e-mail files back and forth.

The tuning interface you purchase really depends on how involved you want to get. If you want to just let somebody else completely worry about it, then a handheld is the way to go. If you want to gain access to everything, a full tuning suite is great.

HP Tuners and EFI Live are more geared towards people who want to completely tune everything themselves.

Diablo and SCT products are more for people who want a little access, or just want an easy way for somebody else to e-mail tune their car.

I have the A6. I just checked out the SCT website and they now have the Pro Racer package for the 2010 Camaro. The package includes a handheld and the SCT Advantage III program licensed for one car only. Sounds like the best of both worlds if the Advantage III program can access all the necessary transmission parameters.

Can someone compare the SCT Advantage III to HP Tuners?

Hopefully you're not saying HP Tuners is $2500.

I don't know where he gets $2500 for anything. I'm throwing. . I think the prices are comparable. But I wasn't asking about cost. . I would like a comparison of functionality, especially for tuning the A6.

efi live charges $2500 for their unlimited tuning per-ecm licenses... that's where he got that number from...

if you want to tune E40 ecm vehicles... it's $2500 for unlimited tuning for that ecm group...

if you want to tune E67 ecm vehicles, it's another $2500 for unlimited tuning for THAT ecm group...

if you wat to tune E38 ecm vehicles, another $2500... etc etc etc
