We have had no complaints of drone on either the auto or manual version. The J pipes are truly an amazing piece of technology. You will still keep a deep growl...the tone is our own signature mix of exotic and aggressive muscle!

I have the factory ground effects package, would any modifications need to be made to accommodate those?

Could you email me a picture of what the ground effects look like in the rear? Maybe one shot right under the rear ground effect as well? Then I can give you a definitive answer My email is goingsolo2@hotmail.com

I'll have to grab some pics tomorrow. The flowmaster kit fit and wasn't dependent on ground effects or not. Only issue there was the 4 inch tips vibrate against the ground effects outlets (sounds horrible). I'm assuming that the Solo kit will fit but i'll send pics to verify. You'll most likely be getting an order from me in the next day or so. Thanks for all of the info!

Solo Mach X-LLT V6

OMFG!!!

I just had the system installed onto my baby today. What a difference a couple hours can make. It's a difference between day and night. Before, it would purr like my fat cat Bobert, but now it growls like a mean lion.

Kudos to Steve and his fabulous team at Solo Performance as well as Gonzalo and his team over at GTR High Performance in Rancho Cucamonga, CA for a friendly and professional install.

Thanks all!

Just had mine installed today by the boys in Kenmore NY. Thanks to Rob for responding back to my PM so quick and to Jeff for the install, the advice and the coffee.
Car sounds perfect, exactly how it should sound.
Thanks.

Finally installed my exhausts on friday. Very easy installation as for my mechanic and the sound is great. There is no drone at 2,000RPM as promised. Very happy.

One very, very small glitch is that the tips are not ajustable and it seems that the left pipe is too much bended and the tips tends to touch the diffuser in the inside and only can bend the pipe to get a 1-4 inch clerance. Otherwise would need to take the diffuser off to adjust the tip. But not a really not a big thing. Maybee Mike could look into that because RickRay apparently had the same thing.

But all over I really recommand and the sound from the outside is crasy for V6 and very pleasant from the inside.

Thanks Solo.

Thanks for the kind words. Initial installation is really important for tip alignment. If you loosen the band clamps on the kit, use another person or shim the tips in place, and then retighten, all should be lined up well. Glad you are enjoying your new exhaust and welcome to the SOLO family!

What would you recommend if people add long tube headers + high flow cats to their V6 Camaro?
Obviously exhaust will be more raspy.
So any tips to keep "the roar" but reduce the raspiness?

Possibly a pair of our QR resonators, but nothing will ever take that away completely...that's just what LT headers do, especially on a V6.

Got mine installed yesterday in Mississauga, On. and I can't believe the sound! Great system, and I was able to watch the install. Thanks to Jack, and his team for the great customer service, and I would and will recommend this system to all V6 Camaro Owners!

About 4 hours to install on jack stands. The j tube needed to be removed to do the install. I could not get enough angle on the assembly to install it with it on jack stands. I had a hard time getting the clearance I needed on the rear valance. I have some rubbing on the driver side cut out for the exhaust tip. The j tube on the passenger side rubs the inside of the valence. I could have corrected this by pushing the pipe back but the tips would be out of alignment then. Aside from those small issues smooth install. High quality products used.

It's louder than I thought it was going to be. At any sustained RPM it really quiets down. Zero drone. At part throttle around 2000 rpm under load it really growls loudly. pit I guess that's what you are paying for.

Youre right installing on jack stands is more difficult but can be done. I also have a clearance problem with the rear diffuser holes but I'm lucky I managed to get a take off SS diffuser for $50.00 so it's now standing in my garage waithing to be installed. As for the sound, as I said before, there's no video clips that can render the real sound and growl.

Nice choice and enjoy the as I do on a daly basis.

Is it just me or is that spot between 1500 and 3000 MUCH louder than the rest of the RPM range. Would making the J tube longer quite this region down?

I had mine installed yesterday, i dont have any clearance issues but i agree with you that in the 2000-3000 range it is fairly loud. Ive heard that once it has seasoned that will die down alittle. Also i notice a weird smell when i get out of the vehicle since i had it installed....almost like plastic burning, but i have checked and its not touching the valence at all and as far as i can tell nothing is melting or even to the temperature where it could melt, but none the less there is still a smell. Is this normal?

I personally love the sound and the exhaust as a whole is extremely well made. Couldnt be happier with my purchase.

Hello and thanks for your support. The smell is perfectly normal. It is the oil that is on the pipes burning off during the initial drive cycles.

The exhaust willl also quiet a bit as it breaks in. The break in takes about 500 miles, as carbon builds up inside the pipes. Thanks and have a great day!

wow thanks for the fast reply! I assumed it was something like that, but you know what "assuming" does. The shop i had it installed at was amazed at the sound once it was installed, couldnt believe it was only a v6. Ive already had 2 people ask me what exhaust it was, and ive had it installed less than 24hrs. Speaks volumes for the product. thanks again.
