Oh man! The year before last before I took a gamble (and lost big time) moving to Alaska, I was working about a combined 70 hours a week from 3 jobs (not including my own little business)... Lost my ass in Alaska, had to move back home, now I'm down to 40 hrs a week with one job, and about 20-30 a week with my little business now that it was finally taken of in the last year.

You know what every guy with a 2nd job needs?? A third job!

Wow. the last time I posted in this thread, I was looking for a new job... Now I've been in that new job for 10 months. Still salaried, but really GREAT hours. 8:30-5, an hour lunch, no weekends, no holidays. LOVIN it!

In one sense I'm pretty lucky and can work from home at my discretion.

BUT...

I tend to go in to the office most of the time. I wake up.. start getting ready to amble the 20 feet or so into my home office, in my pj shorts and t-shirt.

BUT...

That's no fun and Princess is calling from the garage so I take a shower, put on work clothes and thoroughly enjoy the drive to and from work. Top up, Top down.. doesn't matter.

I was a workaholic for about 5 years but Uncle Sam took all my overtime money so I decided to calm down a bit and work just enough to not get hit up so hard.

I love my job, I do enjoy coming into work most days. I only say that because I'm not a morning person and I enjoy sleeping in to late morning. However I crawl out of bed and make it to work everyday, normal 40 hour weeks. I don't get paid enough for my position, (I'm at the low low side of the pay scale) so I also do work outside of work. Which I get paid twice as much versus my full time job.

I'm a computer technician at a junior college, and I do the same outside of work for local area businesses and the community. I've never advertised, yet I'm always busy. I believe I'm responsible for the demise of the local computer guy that started up a couple years ago. He ripped people off and does shoddy work. So it wasn't too difficult picking up his clients via word of mouth. My job at the college pays the bills, my freelance job pays for the fun stuff. I've worked with about 6 area businesses, created one website a couple of years ago, currently working on another, will be working on a 3rd later this summer.

The only downside is it doesn't leave a lot of time for my other hobbies.

65-70 hours a week, two jobs, wife gets my full time check to keep the house running and the part time job money is for me. Which buys all my motorcycle and car goodies.

I usually do 48-52 hours a week myself. Enough for an extra day or day and a half worth of overtime pay.
