Can I get a better deal?

Looking to order a 2011 to get it mid to end of November. Looking for a

2SS Black
RS
6M
Hurst
Sunroof

MSRP $37,625
Supplier $36,532

I can get GM Supplier, but wondering if there are better deals to be had.

Yes you can get a better price. Shoot for $500 or more under invoice. Just stay firm with that offer and be prepared to walk out if the dealer doesn't agree. One warning, do not tell the dealer you qualify for supplier pricing before negotiating, because the dealer will be paid money by GM if they use a "preferred pricing authorization" number. So if they know that they can make a couple hundred bucks by selling supplier, then why would they go even lower than supplier pricing? If they go lower, GM will NOT give the dealer any money. So again, negotiate w/o telling them that you qualify for supplier pricing.

According to truecar.com

Great $36254
Good $36873

so I guess $36,532 and 0 hassles is not too bad.

I called USAA and here is what they said.

You are only eligible for the USAA GM rebate/discount if you are a USAA member (i.e. have the blue membership card) . You can get a membership card ONLY if one of the below is true.

1. You can only get it if you OR a member of your family has been/is serving in the millitary OR if your spouse or someone in her/his family has been serving for the military.
2. If you are eligible for the auto or home insurance then you can get the membership card but guess what you need to qualify for point number 1 to get USAA auto or home insurance so we are back to point 1

Even if you have a USAA checking account or credit account note that it does NOT make you eligible for the offer since that is available to anyone without any military prerequisites.

If you still want to cross check this call USAA at 800 862 6909

I even registered with them online and in fact have a USAA number too but no membership card :( boooohoo there goes a $750 I was hoping to get.

@denny : Anytime.. but you mentioned you actually were serving in the army earlier so you should theoretically still be eligible. Did you call USAA and check? In case you haven't I think you should as you stand a much better shot at it.
