January 9, 2006
The Camaro coupe concept vehicle debuted at the 2006 North American International Auto Show. It was awarded "Best in Show" by Autoweek editors.

August 10, 2006
GM Chairman and CEO Rick Wagoner announced that an all-new version of the Chevrolet Camaro would be built based on the award-winning concept coupe which debuted in January 2006.

January 6, 2007

Start of Production of 2010 Camaro Coupe. Note: the all-new Camaro was originally scheduled to begin production at the end of 2008 and to go on sale in the first quarter of 2009 for the 2009 model year, but General Motors stated in January 2009 that production would be delayed until March 16, 2009 with the Camaro going on sale in the spring of 2009 for the 2010 model year.
