My first Camaro was a hand me down from my sister. It was a 1967 Camaro. I got the car in 1977 so it was ten years old, but still my favorite car to this day. It was light blue with the white stripe across the front. It was automatic with a straight six. A hot rod it was not, but it was my last year in high school and I thought I had the best car in the parking lot. I drove it for four years while in college and ended up trading it in on a then late model MonteCarlo. Now I was moving on up. I drove almost every manufacturer of car throughout the years. Buick, Cadillac, Mercury, Toyota, Mazda, etc, but in 1998 I purchased a 1998 Z28. Fully loaded with t-tops and leather. Now I had a hot rod. Nice car, but after a few years, it started rattling in the hatch area and the tops would leak. Not the happiest of memories with this Camaro. But the fun factor with the 6 speed was for sure there. Because of some family changes we traded that car in. That was my last Camaro until of course my 2010 which hopefully will be here in May. Ordered 2SS/RS RJM with CGM hockey sticks and gray leather interior. Can't wait. I am trying to form a Camaro Club out here in Arizona, so if anybody is interested, please contact me.
