Hey guys…..just thought I would give this a try and see who would be interested.

I’ve never used Google Groups before (Yahoo Groups several times though) but I was looking for a FREE way that Gen 5 owners could sign up on an email list that would let us send out emails to everyone letting them know about events and stuff going on in our area. My 1st Gen Camaro club relies heavily on this for their communication. I figured this might be a good place to start and see if it will lead into creating a North Texas (NTX) club with an official web site.

It looks like the group has a Forum type of setting but what I was really looking to do is have a way that you could send an email to NTXCamaro5@googlegroups.com and every member would get that email. This would be more of a way to have info sent to you instead of having to go to a web site to see what is going on.

Right now I’ve set it up to so that anyone can view the content but only members can post messages and receive email. You may have to setup a Google Account (simple….just email, username, password) to get to log in and post. However, I may be able to just add your email if you want to just receive emails.

I’ll start sending out any info about the August group meeting once I hear anything.
