This was one hell of a great event. I drove down by myself which was the first time I had my SS on a road trip. I did really nice on the open road. I stayed over in Macon after a short stop/visit to Summit Racing just out of Alanta. Friday morning I drove on down to Valdosta. The small city was already showing signs of being invaded by beautiful Camaros. It was a really neat experience. Everybody there with a Camaro was like an old friend. We all had the same thing in common and wanted to see each others car and mods. After I cleaned my car at a local spray car wash and settled in to my room it was time to look for food. Directly behind my hotel I noticed a Hooters with 6 Challengers parked side by side. I couldn't resist. I got in the car and headed right on over. I parked right in the middle of them. Those Mopar guys got a real kick out of that. They were a cool bunch and were there for the Fest. I had a salad and a beer then I got them all to show off their rides. They were really a great bunch who were all packing some real muscle under those Plymouth hoods. They raced well on the strip the next day against our Camaros but were out numbered and out powered by the end of the day. Friday evening 3 to 4 hundred Camaros cruised around the city for 20 miles with a police escort. There was a LOT of TESTOSTERONE in the group. It was a wild time to say the least. No wrecks but a lot of rubber was left in Valdosta. The next morning early we did a caravan for about 15 miles to the race tract. That was the main event that lasted all day. I'm sure by the end of the day all were very tired of having so much fun.
