Hey Guys,

I might have to go put down money on a Camaro next month at Classic if I want to take possession of it in the March/April time frame of next year. I’ve only been able to sit in one Camaro and it was an LS model. I have not been able to ride in one yet. Of course the new Camaros are leaving Classic as fast as they are getting them and they are all customer cars so there is no test driving. Before I put down money I would like to be able to really to check one out….go for a ride….have my wife sit in the passenger side to make sure she is okay with the tall dash…feel the power of an SS… see the gauges light up during startup….etc.

So I wanted to see if anyone in the Grapevine, Keller, Flower Mound area would be willing to meet with me for a little while some night so I can really get a feel for the car and put the final selling point on my wife. I’m pretty sure we will be buying a Camaro but I would just feel better about putting money down if I at least got a chance to ride in one. I’ve never bought a new car before so this whole process is new to me.

I'd be happy to spend time letting you check out my 2SS/RS, but it seems like I've been from Frisco to Grapevine and back way too much the last week and a half. If you are up for coming out to Frisco any evening this week, I'll be happy to meet up.

Thanks....I'm assuming you'll be at the Sept 12 get together. I'll probably make it to the Hooters at 3. That might be a good time to hook up and get a better look. Maybe get a quick ride around the block or something. Of course with traffic in that area there is nothing about a quick ride around the block.

The 12th will work for sure, and I'd gladly give you a ride.

Caverman, I've thought long/hard about this... no one has driven my car but me and the guy's that have to drive it at the dealership. That said, I am in Trophy Club. If you want to come by one night this week, let me know, and you can be the only other person to have driven my car.... I'll just have to drive that sweet ride of yours around the block too, in exchange. PM me, if you're interested in meeting.

Caverman, I can help you out w/ everything but the driving part... I've got 4 or 5 cars on the ground that are going to be going to the state fair, so if you want to check out different interiors or exteriors and sit inside let me know.

Number 9 (Adam I believe)....Although I don't necessarily have to drive one this might be a fair enough trade. Let me check my wife's schedule and I'll PM you.


Eric....by chance do you have any ABMs or RJTs there? How is the SS allocation issue going? I'm just about ready to come down and put a deposit assuming there is still about 6-7 mth waiting period. I'm hoping to take possession around March/April time frame. I'm down to $1,850 left on the Yukon and then I'll need my Tax Return to get a nice down pmt.

BTW.....speaking of the Fair....Oct 10th F-Body day at the Fair. The local F-Body clubs will be there showing off their cars near the Auto buildings. I plan on being there in my '69.

I plan on going to the Fair this year as well....might do the 10th but am looking into doing a weekday time frame...less crowds....normally I go on a Wednesday....can't beat bringing can goods up there and then getting in for a buck! HAHAHA!!!

Hey Eric is there a time frame for when Cams will start to hit the lots? How many more orders do you guys have to fill,curious?

That pretty much sealed the deal for the wife and I. I’ll be looking to put down a deposit and get in line within the next week or so.

Now the gloves come off for the fight to convince my wife to go along with me ordering an ABM.

BTW: I'll still accept rides from anyone willing to give them at the Camaro meets.
