When you remove a seat, you disconnect the battery first (nobody can say for sure whether that matters, but I am not taking chances on an airbag deploying because of a spark or odd electrical situation). When you reconnect the battery, you get two air bag codes - one is a big warning on the main display, which is easy to clear by tapping the end of the control stalk. The other is a red airbag icon that stays permanently lit on your dash. No big deal at all. I am absolutely sure it does not impact the other airbags - no way GM would deactivate ALL airbags if one malfunctioned.
Yes, already signed up for NCM at VIR
. I was going to go down for a few days on April 15/16 but could not get the seats done in time. Might try later on for one day on May 5th.
The roll bar is really tricky. It is very hard to get the posts to point in exactly the right direction.
I'm going to bring my car with race seats in to CamaroFest this year, in case anyone wants to see it in person and try it out. I know I was mostly guessing when I bought my parts, so it would be good for others to be able to see it for real before they decide.
