Not much happening at moment, block at machine shop, says should have back next week wed/thur. I have pressed out stock trunions from rockers & installed Comp cams upgraded trunions with retaining clips. Also modded some earth straps at back of heads, std loom so short & hard to get at, now have extra length with proper connector for easy disconnect from engine. Went to work on heads to upgrade beehive springs to double springs for up to .675" lift but found my old valve spring compressor no good on these heads due to height of rail for rocker covers, so good excuse to buy new one. This one should do the trick.
Also got another one coming for, heads still on motor too just in case for later.
Borrowed mums green scour pads & bit of water worked really well for cleaning off head gasket material from block & heads. Started to use scraper & thought no, on aluminum too easy to scratch surface, not like good old days of cast iron.
