I'm a criminal master mind. That should help balance things out.
Just kidding. I'm an engineer in Atlanta. I've done a few track days in my previous cars - Porsche Boxster then Lexus IS F. Either I was getting pretty good or the Lexus was much better than the Boxster. Maybe both. Because I was able to hang with the sole Carrera 4S last time I went. And finally pass all those pesky Boxsters and Minis. Aren't they great track cars?
A group of us associated with the Porsche Club of America use a track in Alabama called Talladega Grand Prix. It's been fun so far. We only run a few cars (generally 3) at a time so it seems pretty safe.
I'm bringing the Camaro for its debut Monday. Can't wait to see what she can do, although I am leary about her handling. But what's a track day without a good spinout?
I won't be able to get a video, but I'll post a summary afterwards.
One more thing: unlike many on Camaro5, I have no intention of "upgrading" mine for racing or performance. This is my daily driver. If it's fun on the track, great; if not, I'll just wait until my next car. Although I do plan to keep this one for a while, you know how the best laid plans of mice and men fare. I'm already eyeing an XKR, Carrera, or Corvette as my next ride.
Maybe I'll see you at the track someday.
