Hi all.
I stumbled across this social group from mention made in the 'HPDE/road course guys' thread and hope you guys don't mind having an "associate member" on board.
Most of my corner-carving has been in autocross, and there were a few years of TSD rallying (which in actual practice can be a lot more 'enthusiastic' than it is meant to sound). The rest is just an enthusiasm for hard cornering that hasn't waned in over 45 years, so I guess it's incurable at this point.
I've done nearly all of my own work on all my cars, and the suspension tuning choices have always been my own.
This year I find myself bitten by the track day bug after running in the American Street Car Series "Run to the Shore" event at NJMP/Lightning. I guess I did OK as a rank newbie despite a more or less open run group format, my lap times ended up about where I expected them to be, I didn't go off or do anything else stupid, and wasn't the rolling chicane that everybody hates, etc. All I need now is slightly cooler weather, some real-time help with the "driver mod" . . . and upgrades as things wear out or otherwise deteriorate (*cough* bushings *cough*).
I'm hoping to learn things here that I might not elsewhere, and maybe being able to help by putting things in a slightly different light from time to time.
Meanwhile . . . T7 on the out lap
Somewhat later
